[MOD]App2External_SD (Fixed Duplicate files)

11) Go to /system/etc/init.d and click on 11extsd2internalsd

12) Click at the top where it has Su and Boot and hit save and then exit

When I click on 11extsd2internalsd it opens a dialog asking what to open the file with? What am I missing?

did you rename it and get rid of the .txt file extension?

Ok the whole reason I did this mod was to get more offline music onto my device via google music and the xbox music app. However google music now is seeing the internal memory as the external, so I can't 'keep' much music on the device. Any ideas on a work around?

Try these steps in this post (for another phone but the method works for most, including the F3 and F6). http://androidforums.com/5882832-post3.html

And if you have swapped, make sure you actually link the folder to the sd card, which may now be labeled Internal Storage.

Im not having any problems,(anymore) in the process though i bricked my phone 3 or 4 times. Also do not use the automated bloatware removal script, it removes to much and i couldn't manually put back. But i have a few gig plus games a cew gigs of music, fixin to just buy bigger sd chip and move everything over. thanks for instruction was really mad goin from motion to f3

Worked to use the 54 GB partition of a newly installed 64 GB MicroSD card as internal storage! Will install Link2SD and Mybackup Pro to reinstall apps ASAP. No bricking whatsoever, at least so far. Many thanks for making this script!

I've never used any bloatware scripts on the devices I've owned! As far as this phone, if you don't have any idea as to what to remove, this list is a good start. It doesn't remove a lot, but it's a good one. Most of the apps can be reinstalled from the Play Store as user apps, which also helps with CPU loads. Written by a great ROM builder, LeslieAnn.

Safe apps to remove

I get to step 12 and 13 and get stuck or not getting something right.. The folder says permissions denied or whatever and it will not let me do anything to change that

Hello everyone,

No more duplicates! Everything is fixed! =)

I had to modify the script again.
Re-download 11extsd2internalsd
Start with step 7 if you already have this installed.

Ok so I followed your directions but Im having a bit of an issue with Smanager. When I click on the script as stated to do in step 11 I am not presented with the options you spoke of. I do not see Su and Boot. When I click on the script Smanager wants to edit it. Can you please help? I dont know what Im doing wrong and this is really frustrating.

Thank you,

X

After you click on the file you should get a dialog box to "Open As...". Select "Script/Executable" from the top of the menu. The next screen will be where you set su and boot options. Don't forget to save options before you exit then reboot.

Thanks all done now and it worked but it still gives me the insufficient space message...

Man you guys are great.

I'm finally able to download big games thanks to this forum.

ONE QUESTION though: Should I move any of the files that are still on the actual internal storage to my micro SD? Or will everything still work just fine?

Like as far as any apps and games I had installed on the internal, should I move them to the micro SD? Also, should I "move to Phone" in the apps menu so that it keeps all the data on my micro SD?

Also, how come when I go to my apps list, it still refers to my original internal storage as the internal storage. Is that normal?

Re-download 11extsd2internalsd

Using an optimus F6. Says I do not have permissions to open 11extsd2internalsd.txt in S-manager even though I checked them all in Root browser and it let me know that I successfully changed permissions.

Also, when I first downloaded 11extsd2internalsd.txt on my windows computer through mediafire I believe it was, I moved it to my external_sd like this: http://i354.photobucket.com/albums/...l2internalsdcard_zps460aeee0.png?t=1400849766, or was I suppose to download it straight from/to my phone and not use any computer at all?

I completed all the steps in the original post, but for some reason, app and game updates keep installing to my original internal storage instead of my Micro SD.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

After making the switch you will also have to make sure any app or game is now pointing downloads to the internal sd. A web browser is a good example; let say it's set to download all files to your external, now you'll need to go into settings for that app and change it to the internal. Just a thought, hope it helps.

Note: This does not effect nandroid backups. In recovery you will still want to backup to the external_SD.

Ok so I went to my app list, and selected "Move to SD" and that did clear up space on my internal. is that how you make sure the apps and games point to the micro SD?

No, I'm talking about apps that will download or store data (ex. Tapatalk, web browsers, facebook, twitter, cloud services etc.) to your phone. There's usually an option in the apps settings on which sd storage to use (internal or external). Titanium Backup is a good one for eating up space. So if in TB's settings the backup go to the external_SD you actually put it on the internal since you switched it. TB doesn't know that automatically, it still makes the backup to the place it was set before the mod.

I disconnected the battery and my external SD was no longer reading as my internal.

Is there a way to prevent this from happening?

EDIT: Ok so apparently you have to wait a minute or so for it to show the micro SD as the internal. When you first boot up it'll show the internal as internal, but if you just wait, it'll be back to reading the micro SD as the internal

Man, now I'm having another issue.

for whatever reason, not only does the music app, but my PC as well will not recognize the music I have on my micro SD which is now my labelled Internal Storage. It worked fine at first but ever since I took the battery out, the music app on my phone and my PC acts as if there's nothing there which is complete BS.

If I use File Manager, I can click on the songs and play them, but I can't add them to my library or anything. The phone is just being ********.

Anyone know what's going on because I shouldn't have to keep reloading the same files onto my phone everytime I disconnect the battery.

Cant find this. Where is it? My actual internal gets filled up sometimes even with this mod.
