Root [MOD] Droid Pro Blue Boot Animation with "Droid" sound

Yes it does.

Huh. Didn't for me. I mean, I'm aware did change the zip, but all I did was change the pictures to red, put in a different sound file, and edited the desc.txt to match. Used the same folder structure and everything, and all I get is a blank bootup.

Most likely you didn't edit desc.txt properly, that file is picky.

Make it easier on yourself and name your sound file the same as the existing one........make sure it's an .ogg extension, otherwise make sure you edit the desc.txt file correctly.

That may be the problem; I used an .mp3 file. I'll change it and see what happens. And literally, all I changed was the name of the file from the original to Mine.mp3, so I'm guessing it doesn't like that particular file type.

You can use an .mp3 file extension, just as long as the desc.txt file calls for it.

I am literally stumped, then. I re-downloaded yours; that works. I then made a zip that followed the same exact pattern of folders, only with the pictures I re-colored (nothing else was changed), and the sound file that I renamed to match your original one. That gives me a blank screen. Unless the phone just doesn't like Paint Shop Pro, I don't even know what's wrong.

Did you choose "Store" for compression level or "Normal"? It should be "Store".

Possible problem 2, then. I'll re- zip tonight and see how it works.

EDIT: Still doesn't work.

I have three folders in the main zip: data, system, and that META-INF folder, which I didn't touch, I just copied over. system/media/audio/notifications/Droid.ogg, data/local/bootanimation.zip, which is folders spin, logo, and droid, along with desc.txt. All I did to the pictures was re-colour them as red instead of blue, except for those in logo. Desc.txt was copied over straight. Boggled.

I installed this but not really liking it. How do I uninstall This zip so that I could go back to the stock version?

What did you install that you want to remove, the boot logo, the boot animation or both? You guys have to be more clear when you ask for help.

Is there I can get this with no sound? Can I remove the ogg file before flashing?

Yes, just delete it it before flashing, or you could do it after you flash, it's up to you.

I think your problem is in the bootanimation.zip, but there's already a red DroidPro bootanitmaion out there, no need to create a new one, unless you are trying to learn how to do it.

I couldn't find the one I had made a while ago, but here's this one I just did; this one had two different sound files it called for, I just removed one from the desc.txt and left the droid.ogg sound.

....you know, that might be it too. I re-zipped the main files as Store, but not bootanimation.zip; I think that's still set as normal. Cue headsmack. I'll try again, because, yeah, I want to learn how to make them myself. Otherwise I'll be constantly harrassing someone to do it for me. ;)

EDIT: AHAHAHA, I GOT IT TO WOOOOORK. Ahem. I think several factors borked it that last time, not the least of which was forgetting that PSP puts those stupid browse files in every folder I browse. Had to delete those, rezipped bootanimation as Store, then rezipped everything as GB_Redder.zip as Store. Now, I'm off to celebrate like a mad thing because this was driving me crazy.

The bootanimation.zip is what needs to be set to store, the zip that encloses all the files is fine on normal.

Well, I set both to Store, and it worked, so. I dunno. Might have been some of the other little problems (PSP browse files, etc) that messed it up originally, but both as Store works fine.

Yeah, it will work if both are set to store, but only one needs to be (bootanimation.zip) ;)

Na, just set them both to store. Take the guess work out of it. Of course I have NO idea what you're talking about but I felt I must put in my two cents. I feel left out if I don't chime in and say something.......:D:p

Next time I'll set only one to store, just to be contrary. :p

You just crack me up sometimes :D

Hey, ya can't be serious ALL the time. that's too much like being an adult. I am and always will be a toys-r-us kid......lol.

Finally got around to flashing this...I deleted the sound before I flashed the ZIP but I still hear it. How can I try to delete it after the fact?

Figured it out...renamed Droid.ogg in System/Media to Droid.bak

The file was probably already there, that's why you hear it.

With root explorer go into \system\media\audio\notifications and delete Droid.ogg.

That should take care of it.

That's basically what I tried...not that I use the Droid.ogg notification but could I have edited the boot animation TXT file instead?
