Gotta remember a phone is just like a computer when it comes to files and folders and permissions. ;)
Plus root explorer is the best so keep it. Makes everything easy.
 
Love the new mod, but I checked a vid recorded from my stock camera, and this is what I got:

Yea thats strange the other day i found a video that had almost the same specs as yours shows and it was also with my old .apk well if i find something out ill be sure to let you know whats going on

No Fuzzy were trying to figure out why that even with his and mine old Camera.apk we were already shooting at 30fps... it caught the corner of my eye the other day right before i put the mod in and i really didn't think to much of it, but that's me :rofl:

Any clue into what crud is going on haha?

Ah. I was assuming stock meant the "new" stock camera with the mod instead of a plain ole stock camera.

I saw this one time with one of my videos and it was because of how I converted it on my PC. By converting it to an AVI file the framerate went up to 30fps. Strange because I had never noticed it before.


Was this "test" with the stock camera done with the volume off and vibrate on like how you have to operate the 30fps camera?
 
Use your pc to check framerates. Mxplayer gave me bunk info.

I use QuickTime. Ctrl I after you open the video. I've checked it against all the video editing software i have and it's accurate.
 
Funny how we can't tell by just looking at it....and we're spending so much time on this must-have....

Lol. I could never notice.

Give me a studio, 2 Master audio tracks and tell me to spot the differences and i got you. Video? I got other people for that. Lol
 
I could see a HUGE difference - immediately!
But that may have just been my phone recording at a really low fps from the start.
If I've learned anything, its that these Esteems aren't the same in how they act. Weird.

Its amazing how different a phone can act from one to the next all the while its still the same phone. lol

Funny, anything i buy made in that country produces similar results--whether it's a pack of pens or whatever: open the pack and some will not work from the get go, some are obviously broken, some work and last a normal lifetime, some work very well and last for eons....
And they say that that country will someday take over the world...
 
wow... i finally tried this with the lil fix trick and it worked.. i didn't realize how big a difference it would make but OMFG this is amazing!!! wish i could include it in the rom, but sadly the volume isn't on vibrate by dfault so most people wont know to do that prior to using camera LOL make sure this thread stays bumped to the top haha

It makes a huge difference in the video quality, huh? lol
If only there was a way to make a popup (when switching from camera to video camera) that says "Turn volume down to vibrate".... until we get a real fix for it, I guess it wouldn't be practical for a ROM just yet...

But, man would it make a nice addition to #2 ;)
 
maybe you could rename the camera app icon to something like "camVOLto0" or something in the meantime (time between baking it into your ROM and a real mod fix)

Highest friends my camera working 90% of the time and would report
errors once in a while.

I noticed that my. Internal sd card would be almost full no matter how many files I deleted. I had free 800megs out of 4G then made a back image and then erraced internal memory and storage. I reinstalled the back up image and the it showed 4G free on internal storage.

To my surprise the camera works every time at 720p and over 30f. Pero sector.

I got home and played around with the camera and noticed that the recording was working today, after that i got out of the app and higherd the ringer volume all the way since i was home now and not at school but once i went back to check the camera again it gave me the error. So i went back out to lower the ringer volume all the way down and checked the camera and it was working! I tried it multiple times and can confirm this. So can you guys check if this works for all esteems and if this might help fix the mod?? To make things clearer ringer volume up causes error and ringer volume at 0 makes it work!:D

I just recording something earlier and someone commented on how great it looked,remembered I forgot to Thank You for this discovery :thumb:, Anyone that happens to do this Mod should throw a Like to this man!
 
Cant believe i forgot to hit that thanks button when you found this out!. better now than never! THANKS! still running this mod and still great!
