Motorola Atrix ftw o.o

Well, i shouldn't complain

when i had my backflip/captivate/xperia...I worried about using the GPS all the time because i was afraid that it raise the bill up

but in all honesty, i use wi-fi...much faster(although 4g is very useful with tmo)

I wondered about the data cap too. It almost seems like you're "crippling" the phone w/the cap. With its capabilities, the ph is practically begging to use data. For me, 2 GB wouldn't work. I may not be your average user however. The earlier post that suggested 5 GB for 30.00, etc., would be perfect and I would gladly pay it. That would be plenty for me. Call it a "4G data plan" or something and have it only apply to their 4G phones/devices. That would be nice, though unlikey. Bottom line, the 2 GB cap is downright silly for a ph like this IMHO. Oh well. C'est la vie.

How long do you think AT&T will let people who were grandfathered in keep their unlimited data plans? They can't just take it but they can say that if you sign a new contract then you won't have unlimited data anymore. I'm assuming when they get LTE up and running it may happen but at the very least there will probably be an extra charge like Sprint does with the EVO.

They already do that in e you upgrade you can't keep your unlimited

If you had the unlimited data plan, you get to keep it. I started a new contract after the new plans were released and I kept it. The oly way you can loose it is if you decide to go down to the 200MB plan or the 2GB plan or if you want tethering. If you don't change and always keep the data plan, it will be granfathered into your next contract.
 
This....is an amazing phone. I am kinda envious of AT&T users now. I'm on Verizon. They have its cousin the Bionic. A really want that phone too.

I just moved into a bad reception area for Verizon. I might be switching carriers. If I do it will be between Sprint and AT&T if LTE on Verizon doesnt help my reception.

This.....is an amazing phone.

I believe that somewhere according to the agreement that you are allowed to keep it. Most times, the salesmen are good at making the customer purchase things based off of lies and negligence. My only thought, besides AT&T being incorrect, would be that it has to deal with the rebate. I upgraded to an iPhone 4 that did not have a rebate so that may be why but I do not believe so.

here, it states that the prices are the same as the 3G data plan prices.


So my question is, if I already have the grandfathered unlimited plan for my smart phone can I just port it over to the Atrix?

I mean come on At&shiT, it's not 4G LTE you're offering me with the Atrix, just it's little snot nosed HSPA+ brother and I shouldn't have to limit myself with your 2Gb plan for something that is so closely related to 3G.

I asked if I can use my current 3G grandfathered unlimited data plan for the 4G Atrix, since the pricing is the same for both the limited 3G and 4G data plans and HSPA+ is so closely related to 3G and not 4G LTE.

This web link does not address my 4G/3G data plan issue question. It is data from June 2010 and addresses being grandfathered into your unlimited data with the advent of AT&shiT's limited data plans.

Really? Well, once Verzon announces their LTE phone pricing, we will see. I can see them raising the prices.

AT&T 3G is going to be their 4G, HSPA+. There is no change in network, just a change in marketing. By AT&T's new marketing standards, you have been using 4G for a while if you have been using 3G. Therefore, that link is valid minus the new marketing moniker.

In regards to my question, it is not valid. There are no HSPA+ phones which utilize their "4G" which means i "have NOT been using 4G for a while" as you stated. I was not questioning marketing, but transparentness for my current data plan feature and HSPA+. Thank you for wasting my time.

Upon further development and deployment of the HSPA+ 4G network and thus, compatible phones can we then find out what AT&shiT will market and implement in regards to current users data plan services and subsequent new data plan services.
