Root Mounting SDcard/Formatting ???

Newbie
Hi guys i'm trying to install my first Rom on this phone. I want to back up my apps bit it's asking me to mount my SD card. Both the mount and format are greyed out in the phone?

I already formated the card so not sure why its asking to do that again.

Where i backed up my apps but the folder is empty.

Insert the card in its spot on the side of the phone to mount and you should be able to format the card via the phone under sd card and storage.

Did you format in you PC after transferring all the data to another folder on your PC? then did you insert into the phone and select erase SD card, then go back and make sure you the phone put at least the android folder in it before transferring you data back into the card?

The SD council strongly recommends using their tool. It is specifically designed for formatting SD Cards.

I'll give it a try later and see how it does. My 16gb card came formatted 14.2gb. Maybe it can get me more room? I wonder what manufacturers use?

Anyway, if the council strongly recommends it, I wouldn't want them to come looking for me. :D

That isn't going happen. The problem there is:

Although most manufacturers of hard disk drives and flash-memory disk devices define 1 gigabyte as 1,000,000,000 bytes, software like Microsoft Windows reports size in gigabytes by dividing the total capacity in bytes by 1,073,741,824, while still reporting the result with the symbol "GB".
