Root MS840ZVA Update

Just confirmed, OTA update will fail if run from the Mobile care tool if rooted.
The current LG Support Tool will update it no problem, removing root in the process and re-adding the bloatware.

The existing AIO root tool will root the phone again without problems, and my LG Connect Optimizer still works fine, but you have to re-apply any settings.

I'll post updates on anything I notice different. Someone mentioned the baseband was updated.

is cwm uninstalled upon update?

Havent rebooted into it, but Rom Manager says it's the same version.

i rerooted and it went just like it did with vz9 but now i can only access facebook, gmail, youtube and thats it. kinda pissed that i cant browse the web with my phone anymore. can anybody help? im using that beta tether that i used with vz9. maybe a diffrent tether with work. please help guys. tether 3.1 beta 11 is what im using.

Change your user agent to linux in your browser or try using chrome.

i downloaded google chrome and tried that with the same exact results. it worked flawlessly before. i also tried to use superSU and thsat didnt work.

Yep. Guess they decided to do like hex and go from zv9 to zva rather than zv10

After using it for a day, I can say i've had no problems so far... battery life seems a teenie tiny bit better, they removed a few items from the build.prop as well.

if someone has the original build.prop, please post it so i can diff it.

Did you set your phone to usb tether in the notification bar? and clicked install drivers from the lg update tool choosing MS840? after all that you can click next, takes a while.

Mine won't update no matter what I do please help I gave my connect to my mom and know she wants to kill me cuz how hot it gets and cuz how quick the battery drains. Lol

Have you tried putting the phone in download mode?

Take out the battery, plug the usb cable into your phone, hold down both the volume up & down buttons at the same time, put the battery back in ( keep holding the buttons ), and power on the phone while still holding down the volume buttons. And you will see that the phone booted into download mode. Now run the lg update tool
