Root multi backup / kid proof it

350X

Android Expert
setting up a WiFi only used OV for a 7yr old. Ive done the root and initial back up how it was bone stock.

Id like to be able to make and have more then one back up now that its rooted and Ive gotten all the progams and games installed and running smooth.

Is there a program for this?

Titanium backup. Does multiple copies. Schedule backups. Can push to google drive or dropbox account. May need the pro version for some features.

If it has a custom recovery I'd also do a Nandroid backup of the phone just in case. That way you have a complete image of the phone as it was at time of backup and it's there if something accidentally happens

One word of warning, if you do have custom recovery installed, do not do a factory reset from the privacy menu. This will soft brick your phone. It is fixable, but it's a real PITA. If you're giving this to your kid to use, I would recommend putting a custom ROM on the phone that has this option removed, just to be on the safe side. I know all the IHO roms have it removed, and I believe the Harmonia variants do also.

Im using this recovery img, Ive done it once per the rooting directions, id like to do it again how it is now, so I can go back to it if needed in a few weeks. More so I was at it all day installing programs and setting it up so it can be a WiFi only device.

do I have to go through all that terminal emulator code again in the rooting guide to get to the back up?

Or how do I get to that custom recovery so I can do a new back up of how it is now?

Ill play with custom roms when I get myself a $30 used phone to test n play more, stock system is working great rooted with link2sd. I got it plum full of games.

"Install custom recovery image

The recovery image is an alternative bootup instead of normal Android Operating System. It allows low-level operations such as backup/restore a ROM, wipe partitions, and flash ROMs.

4. Download and copy the recovery image VM670NH_recovery.img (works with new & old OV screens) onto your /sdcard."
