Root Multi-Touch works on all ROMs (Includes Maps & Browser fix!)

You know what? After playing with it a bit browsing non-mobile websites its' pretty convenient..so i think I will use pinch zoom afterall :D

I dont know, guess mine is screwed up. I've already wasted too much time on this already. Cant seem to get it to work right. Whats a good app to test with? When I try to use Maps, it keeps selecting the screen for an address. Its not zooming reall much at all. Seems like its zooming because of a tap to the screen, not a "pinch zoom" I'm uninstalling it. Junk IMO. sorry, enjoy

get multi touch tester from the market and you will know if its worked or not
if you dont have it then you are not flashing it properly

WTH, I'm not a tech newbie, but what the heck do you do in the multitouch tester? lol it says touch me, and....? Maybe the flash didnt work. I'm doing the flash the way the instructions tell you, and in the CMD it says flash done, reboot.

touch the screen with as many fingers as you can
if you have dual touch you will get 2 if not you will only get 1

I guess its all in the flashing. It seems that the Flash Tool wants to find (Connect) the X10 first, then the Flash button is available, unfortunatly what happens is by the time the the Flash button is available, the phone has already disconnected from the Flash mode (green light) and starts to reboot, so I dont get the chance to Flash in time, even though the FTool says that it loaded/flashed.

I'm confused. I launch the flashtool, click connect. It tells me to connect my phone so I hold the back button, connect my phone. Instantly the green light comes on, so i let go of back button, press okay and then it logs a couple things and then I click Flash. It doesn't reboot automatically at all. I had to shut it down myself.

Is this not the experience you have??

Do not connect your phone right away. Run FlashTool and click on Connect. Select X10, OK. A dialogue box will appear. Connect phone in flash mode and then click OK within a few seconds.

It's a bit of a horny app, it tells you to touch it, and you have to touch it with as many fingers as you can lmao

anyway, I would suggest starting from the beginning. Make sure you follow the flash instructions clearly, and do what rogem_kk said

That's what happened with mine, still worked tho so I assumed it was normal lol

Although, the first time i tried, it started up after i flashed, but multi-touch didn't work, so I had to re-flash

ok, got it squared away. I was connecting the cord and doing the back button too early. I needed to get the Flash Tool open, select the correct phone, then wait for it to say "connect phone now.." then hit the connect button. Seems to be working now. Still not sure it was worth all that effort, whoo. Thanks for the help!

lol yeah you think great when you get it done and then wonder what the fuss was about.
multi-touch makes not a lot of difference to me but its was there to install so it had to be done.

That was exactly what i thought after i tried it out lmao :D

But I found it was fun for a minute or two of mario on NeS Rom :D

run the flash tool as admistrator and run the program before you connect your phone.
if this fails run SEUS so that the phone is in flashmode but obviously dont start installing anything from SEUS

EDIT:
I re-rooted with the flash tool and it worked.

Multi touch works on games.

Does not work on webpages or photos.

Mediascape does not work with multitouch (maybe it will in the next UXP upgrade), but use the following method to get it to work on google maps, and the browser.

  • Download this file and, using Root Explorer, copy it to /etc/permissions. Then, long press on it, select Permissions and make sure that these options are checked: the whole first column and the first from the second.

  • Exit Root Explorer and reboot.

DONE!!!! Try it on Google Maps & Browser! ;)

Works great with browser and maps after doing that, thanks ^.^

Used the multitouch tester and i can see what SE means when they say it has problems with crossing axis... It really does not like it.

Unfortunately that means I can't play guitar hero on expert ><
lol

for the flashing tool, i just used the 0.2.3 version.
can't figure out how to use the newest version (0.2.4)
but it still worked for me :)
yay now i can show off the custom Eminence rom AND multitouch function to my friends that have x10

worked like a charm on stock 2.0.A.0.504
so far tried angry birds, gallery, google map

google maps doesn't recognize it :( sadly

Yes the dual touch works great, I have been able to use it in many apps an games I could not before, I have tried it on several and it works on most that have the feature, I can now use my new Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock...LOL..

Cubz, i've downloaded this exact file
did everything using super manager instead of root explorer though "used free way"
