Multitouch Keyboard from DX on Inc

I keep getting a big lag when typing in landscape on the web. Its like the keys are trying to catch up with the typing. This only happens in the browser and not when texting. When i'm texting, the keyboard is super fast and can keep up with me but when I post a comment on this forum, the keyboard just really lags. Its really annoying. Is anyone else having this issue. That is the only thing that i dont like about the keyboard.

what keyboards (free ones) capitalize I automatically? None I've tried auto correct or capitalize anything but the very first letter of a sentence, and add periods when I hit space twice (which is sometimes very annoying).

I also don't know why it lags for some. It doesn't lag for me. But I also don't like having to go to another set of keys just for a quick dash or exclamation point.

Swype capitalizes I. And auto spaces very nicely

not being able to see special characters/numbers or long press for them is enough for me to stick with HTC keyboard.

Had I been running stock android it would be a nice keyboard though.

So who's actually tried it?

Does it work like swpye where it's just an additional keyboard you can change to and from or does it overwrite the stock kb?

What exactly does multitouch kb allow us to do?

Putting multitouch aside, how does this keyboard feel, layout/accuracy wise?

it is like swype where you have an additional keyboard. does NOT over write the stock one. The layout is great. The keys have a little more space between them than the other keyboards.

Hello,

Noob here but I thought some of you might like to know that there is a fast and easy way to bring up and hide whichever keyboard you are using.

Just hold the "menu" button for about half a second and whala.

P.S. I have learned so much from this forum and so far I love this DX keyboard.

You guys rock!

Ok. First of all I am not a swyper. I just can't get the hang of swype, so I guess that makes me a true keypresser.

This Keyboard is AMAZING. Most of the errors I had with the stock INC keyboard are now gone simply because it registers the key presses so much better, and no longer has to wait for sequential key press. This is a really good keyboard. I am now typing very very fast, and having much less error. I love it.

So i downloaded this and installed it, but cant seem to get it to work, only stock keyboard and swype show up. Any help?

Oh and then when you go into messaging or whatever app your in. Long press on the keyboard entry site, and select multitouch.

i was replying to a text earlier and it forced closed/rebooted. did this happen to anyone else?

I didn't have any apps running in the background either.

i also agree that this multi touch keyboard lags, sometimes the letters doesn't even go through.

I probably sent at least a couple hundred text messages yesterday, not to mention using my phone for internet since its currently out at my house. I haven't had a single lag issue yet with this keyboard. I don't know what I am doing differently. Usually I am not running anything but lookout. You might double check to make sure you don't have something backgrounded that you don't know about.

So i really like the keyboard a lot but why does it collect info you.type swype did the same thing and thats why i dont use it. But i really like the keyboard...,
People always say things like this when they install apps. It monitors what you type probably because it's a keyboard. Just like how games monitor your calls just to they can pause when someone calls you...

Also, I think this keyboard is great. If only it had vibrate...

Anyone know how to edit added words in custom dictionary with droid x multitouch keyboard? Its driving me nuts.

The message is the standard message from Android when you change the input device. It doesn't mean that this app (or Swype) is actually collecting information. It's just letting you know that potentially it could happen.

Am I the only one? I find this keyboard very unresponsive... Downloaded it cause its getting lots of praise. I have a hard time typing with it.. it seems to miss letters i type rather frequently... I rather use the stock keyboard. Swype> Stock > DX IMO.

Wow, this keyboard is definitely great! I just wish it'd use the stock dictionary. That's the only thing that might send me back to stock. If someone finds an updated version that uses the stock dictionary, that'd be awesome!

i think it does use the stock dictionary, i made a fake word using the MultiTouch keyboard, and when i went to type that word, it put that word first, so it has to be using the stock dictionary. right?

Exactly why it doesn't use the stock dictionary. It has its own. Any words I make up in the MTKB become recognizable only using the MTKB, and any words already in my stock dictionary do not come up when using the MTKB.

The only other annoying thing I find is the auto-correct is not very good. I just typed "excellnt" and "tomorow" and neither got corrected. I tested them again and sure enough, it doesn't auto-correct, yet it does for most words. Kind of annoying and maybe a deal breaker since stock KB doesn't miss words that simple.

Anyone know why?

Sorry I prefer auto correct, if there is a way to have it auto correct as good as sense and it vivrates and has symbols in keys I would buy it...

The one from sense is okay they just need to space out the keyboard.

Yikes. I was 100% into that Droid x keyboard UNTIL I tried the flakey word correction. Tomorow not getting corrected is vile.
