I have a Motorola Triumph. Just wondering, are there any websites where I can get songs to put on my mp3 player on my triumph. I see android market offers songs but are there any web sites also. Thanks for your feedback.

If by "get" you mean "purchase legitimately" then yes-Amazon has a music app where you can purchase music if you'd prefer that, or the Market as you already said.

Otherwise what you're implying is piracy, and I doubt any mod would allow a thread about music piracy on a board regarding a cell phone.

Google Music has a blog where you can get free music.

Magnifier

and there are apps in the market that will search and download free mp3's for you.

Besides deals and specials listed above (or elsewhere), you will need to pay for music you want to download. Any music you have on CD you can copy to a computer and transfer to your phone.

If you are looking to pirate/torrent songs, then you should know that discussions of that sort are against the site rules. So please avoid doing that.

there are google chrome browser extensions that let you convert youtube videos into .mp3's... and its technically not pirating. (i looked into the stipulations)

Can you explain how it isn't, or provide a link for me to read? It's not that I don't believe you, it is that I like to read up on that stuff for myself. If the youtube videos used the songs without permission of the artist I would think that it would be considered a form of piracy and/or stealing. So I would want to see proof otherwise to help have a more informed opinion.

Stop assuming the guy is implying something illegal. There are plenty of ways to get free legal music. As pointed out google music is one of them.

There is nothing wrong with finding out intent. It looks to me like the posters in this thread are checking to make sure the OP is asking about legal ways of getting music and sharing those means, while avoiding posting ways that are not legal. People are just trying to make sure nothing shady is going on.

just look for the laws that state if something is being copyrighted and then compare to what the program does...

theres also a extension for firefox called "download helper" and it can rip audio and video straight from the internet. and you can go to playlist.com and rip songs off the internet from there. :D

Pirated downloading is illegal and not allowed here. Therefore, the guide's questioning the intent of the OP is legitimate and I support it. The intent of the OP is unclear so I'm leaving this thread open. If there is any evidence that supports the motives are less than legal, please report this thread and either I or another mod will close it. Thank you! :)

i agree with agentc13 too, just there are loop holes to get around it. making it perfectly legal. :D i just try to answer peoples questions...

I was just asking for legal ways to download music (mp3s), either paying or preferred, free, if there is such a thing. Thanks

I think the only way you are gonna get mp3 legally is from the google market, amazon mp3, itunes, etc. Even using a youtuber downloader is against youtubes TOS so that is even technically illegal. Anyway you get mp3s for free is probably illegal, unless its a free mp3 from the market or itunes or the such.

Edit: and just in case you are wondering about youtube

Illegal? maybe, gray line

Not if its results are truly "public domain". With the number of downloads its had I'd be surprised if it was breaching copyright without being pulled from the Market by Google.

Of course, if it is then it should be reported as such and discussion of it here would be prohibited as per Site Rules. ;)

I agree Slug, I would hope that any of the mp3 apps in the market would have been checked out by Google, and removed if any were infringing on copyrights.
:D
