Root Musical Phones Could be upgraded

Ok this is nothing definate but I could actually be getting another phone. My Oldest daughter has lost her evo and its about 100 to buy out her contract. I can add a new line to my account for my youngest daughter. This would give me the opportunity to do a phone switch and get a new phone. I could give the daughter Mom's phone, Give Mom my Phone and Get me a New phone. So if you were me what would you get? I like the LTE EVO, Galaxy Nexus, and G3

They all have good points and bad points so I just want your honest opinion. At Moment I'm leaning toward the LTE. I like the Gnex but it doesn't have an external card and the g3 does not either.
 
It was between the LTEVO and GNex for me and it still would be. The SGSIII was never really in the conversation.

I went with the LTEVO because it has better specs and I like the choice of being able to run sense if I want to. They are both great phones and you cant go wrong with either.


Recent root developments on the LTEVO-
We now have S-off and the ability to completely rewrite the bootloader to read S-ON and ***LOCKED*** even though you are still S-off. You can even put any custom text you want where revolutionary would have been on the evo. You can also customize or remove the HTC text on the splashscreen that warns of the developer build

Our dev community is strong (if you couldnt tell that from above) and growing.

Custom ROMS are coming along, but we are waiting on source from HTC for kernels/ect.

The non-removable battery can be a pain for some but battery life is stellar and will only get better.

I've never been a fan of touchwiz. I think it looks like crayola designed the UI. Too bright. I also have other qualms with samsung about how they bent over for apple when designing it.

Samsung knows how to market, and they fill any marketing up with specs of the phone, but the specs are pretty much tied. THE GSII has 2GB of RAM instead of 1 and thats really the only difference.


& the LTEVOS camera & camera app is amazing
 
well 276.00 later I ordered EVO LTE and Otterbox w/screen protectors. I should receive the phone before monday. I am a little ticked that I had to pay now instead of charging on my bill like I always have been able to do. But what can one do. Now I wait :( Is it here yet????? :D

Ok Guess I need to start hanging out at the LTE EVO forums and learn about my new phone.

What is the recovery options for this?? does smelkus have ARS converted to it?????

TWRP is the recovery of choice. No issues like the OG EVO had.

My situation was a bit different but same results as RX

I called and said since we no longer have a phone for that account and its going to cost me the same either way I want to cancel my daughters phone number on that account. It was really that simple it will cost me $10 dollars more but worth it to me.

I then had to call back to add another line for the other daughter. And basically what is going to happen is I will get the LTE, Wife will get the OG, and Daughter will get my wifes phone (Lg Optimus S) Going to make some poor worker earn the money on that day.
 
See, I would have handed the new phone to the wife and kept the evo but that's just me! :)
