must have incredible apps

so Qik is just live streaming videos you can take and then share? Sounds kind of intriguing...

It's actually pretty sweet. Honestly, I think of Qik as Microsoft's Kin phone line. They allow you to record then share immediately, but it also gets uploaded to your Kin portal which is basically what this application does for us except we can stream it.

I think this app is pretty good, and I will definitely check out Ustream if it's as good or better.

that definitely sounds cool! my brother was telling me about it this morning but he's so technically fancy I didn't quite understand what he was saying lol!

It's actually pretty awesome. I'm a technical person as well, but I'm basically the laymen term kind of guy. :p

Anyway, the basic functions of this application allows you to record and then share it immediately to YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, etc., and it also gets posted to your Qik profile page.

When you stream, you just link the person to your profile page which is: www.qik.com/USERNAMEGOESHERE then the video is right on the page for you to watch. I tried it a little bit ago, and it was a little laggy but that's to be expected due to the data being transmitted and encoded on the fly over cellular towers.

You can also allow the application to save the videos on your phone so you can watch them later.

It's really cool indeed. :D :D

Qik is simpler and more polished, but the ustream app actually does a better job of STREAMING the video, which is mostly the whole point of the two apps.

If you just need to get a simple video on the net, Qik is the way to go. It will lag up to around 15 seconds behind live.

If you need a bit better quality and only about 1-2 seconds of lag behind live, ustream is the way to go.

(I freaked out my friend by pulling up my ustream channel on her computer when I was at her house. She was away from the computer at the time, and so I went out to her and followed behind her filming. As she went back to her computer she saw live footage of herself being followed haha. Cruel I suppose...)

^^^LOL. Nice.

I don't see the qik app on the market either, looks like they took it off for now. I'm itching to try it out.

Could someone please suggest me a actually working flashlight application that uses the led flashlights on the Incredible as a torch. Droidlight led flashlight is apparently only for motorola droid and doesnt work for the Incredible as per comments posted.

Thanks in advance...

Just a couple of suggestions.

Mobile Defense or Lookout?

Shop Savvy or Barcode Scanner.

Also, I am new to android. How does the payment work on appbrain? I do not have my DInc yet and I was just curious? I have looked at the website and have not seen anythig about it.

Thanks!

AppBrain syncs links to the apps between the website and your phone. Those links take you to the Android Marketplace, you don't actually buy anything on or with AppBrain.

Ustream is great. I used it yesterday to stream live video from the avon walk in chicago so my girlfriends mom could watch her cross the finish line. She couldn't be there due to her ongoing battle with breast cancer.

Incredible LED Flashlight. It's pretty much a beta and is buggy. However, it is currently the only app of its kind for the Incredible and the dev is apparently sinking considerable time and energy into it.
