I have created a few custom boot animations and figured i should share them with the community. Seeing as this is my first contribution, hopefully everyone will like the boot animations. They are confirmed working. Personally tested them myself. Enjoy!

i am very new to this kinda stuff, ( actually just today a member ) and i have done some research on this and i cant find a tutorial on how. could you or someone lead me in the right direction. my phone is already rooted i did that last night with shaddy mod .9. if there is anything else i may need to do this correctly all the input would be greatly appreciated. thanks

well, what do you need help with? Boot animation making isn't hard, and it isn't hard to replace the one on ur phone with another. The problem I'm having is adding sound to my sexy boot animations :D. If your looking to change your boot animations with one of mine, I can help you there. One, you can buy and download boot animation changer and import any boot animations you download from here, or you can use root explorer. For reference Im going to give the root explorer route, but be very careful not to modify any other files or your gonna end up with a brick.

1.) download boot animation from here.
2.) rename boot animations you download from here to bootanimation.zip
3.) Copy boot animation you downloaded to root of memory stick
4.) unplug phone from computer, let it do a media scan, then run root explorer
5.) when root explorer opens, push the Mount R/W button up top
6.) open the folder that says sdcard, and go to where u put the downloaded animation
7.) open the menu, then push multi-select and select your boot animation of choice, then push copy
8.) go back one folder, then go to /system/media/
9.) push the button in top right corner that says Mount R/W
10.) Paste the bootanimation.zip into /system/media/

done. Now reboot your phone and if done correctly you should see a sexy new boot animation.

EDIT: Oh btw, this method only works for rooted phones.

it does not get renamed, to the stock bootami. look at his detailed step by step:D

it needs to be named bootanimation.zip and placed in /system/media folder then phone needs to reboot

That is pretty much it...

ok so do i remove the folders thats already there in media? cause ive done everything you said and still same stock boot ani. i am on the prevail

Do not delete the folders in media, all you have to do is replace the bootanimation.zip with the bootanimation.zip you get from here. after you do that, the boot animation will show. First samsung boot logo, then boost symbol, then the bootanimation that you downloaded will be the order u will see when u turn on the phone.

check out the new way to add boot animations some people might find it a little easier just download shabbyleaf and what ever anmiation you like open up shabbyleaf to boot animation section and browse to find your choice and apply it to the field then click send mod its easier i tryed it last night..

ShabbyLeaf

i like your animations quitestorm really gd workk there..

well you could edit the desc.txt and edit the fps. For example:

Code:
320 480 [COLOR=Red][U]15[/U][/COLOR] <---edit

p 1 1 android

edit the red number and make it higher for faster, or lower for slower

Do I need a editor for this? I tried it in notepad, and no luck just a black screen instead. I changed the 15 to a 20.... maybe too much? Sorry I still a newbie :D

first of all....sick animations. thanks, the stock one wasn't doing anything for me. Works great unless i unzip it and then add the files to .zip. I get a blackscreen like dirtrider501. I think it has to do with the way the files are added to zip because i've tried rezipping(sorry if i start making up words.....not sure what the terminology is) without changing anything and still got the black screen.

when rezipping, make sure the compression is set to store. If you select a compression option other than store (like normal or max) the boot animation wont work. It will show a black screen.

EDIT: btw, sorry i havent uploaded anymore boot animations, been busy with my son, tryin to make his summer fun. Whenever i get time, I'll finish the other 4 boot animations i was working on and upload for everyone's enjoyment.
