My Life Working At A Cell Phone Store

i never realized how stupid people were until i worked at wal mart. Ive seen people bring in target items with target printed on them and people saying they swear to god they bought them here the best story a lady asked for a panasonic radio i told her we did not carry it she asked for the name of the manager and i told her his name from spanish translates as jesus of the saints she looked at me and asked "just how stupid i thought she was" so i told her she was dummer than dog s&&t i got written up but i said to the boss you tells us to be honest at all times she asked a question i was honest:D thats not even the worst of them!!

Okay so a Dad and his kid went to my store again for the second time this week.

A week before the Dad bought a HTC Thunderbolt, which I thought was for himself but was in reality, is for his 14 year old son. Now after only two days they went back and this happens.

WTF. Why would anyone do that? Even a kid has common sense to not do that. Anyways, the technician fixed it and a couple of days later he went back with his son this time.

:mad: (son) I want my phone!
:) What happened to it? (It had serious case of water damage and some serious scratches that is not there before)
:confused: Well we went to Poracay (a resort in Porac) and he's using the phone in the pool.
:mad: I need to take a picture of the falls! (while you're swimming in the pool?)
:) Did you attempt to dry it off?
:confused: No we just left it at the cabin until we got home and to this place the next day.
:) Well sir, I don't think this type of damage can be repaired. Well try, but it will be cheaper to just get a new phone.
:mad: YES!!! I want an iPhone 4! (He then went to the iPhone section)
:) Sir, may I recommend a cheaper phone. To be honest, he isn't that responsible with phones. It's better to get him a cheaper phone.

But the kid got his way and he got the iPhone 4.

Which he then I heard he dropped in a fountain at the mall -.-

Now, I know not all kids are like that. Heck, I got a phone when I was 13. But if you're that irresponsible then better off having a dumb phone rather than expensive ones.

A kid only needs to text and call his parents. No need for the bells and whistles that a smartphone has. Especially a kid that spoiled and irresponsible.

basically a customer comes in looking for a phone to play music, and they want the best sound and most storage. I mention the Samsung Charge since it has a 32GB card plus internal memory. Customer says no, since the droid can't play music. I show them my phone and google music beta, as well as fedes WP& music player, and explain to them how easy music is on my phone. they begin to argue with me how my phone doesnt hold as much space.

after a while of this back and forth they decided that the iphone now is magical and the 32gb iphone holds more space than 32gb droid.

My manager got a story like that one. A man came in and said that he wants a phone that has a lot of memory for music and movies etc. The manager said that the [can't remember name] would be perfect (I can't remember what phone it was) but the customer refused because it might not fit all his music.

Then the manager said if 32G isn't enough you can still buy memory cards for it. But the costumer still wanted the iPhone even if the manager explained that 32G is it's only memory and you can't have mmc for it.

Still he went with the iPhone.

But I do have an iPhone and I changed it for something better.

BTW nice marketing strategy Apple /sarcasm.

Here's a better one. If you don't have an iPhone, you don't have a iSheep brain.

I'm about to start slinging phones at Costco (Wireless Advocates). I'm sure I'll have plenty of these stories to come.
 
I just had a customer call me stupid lol.

They came in to get an iphone I ask why. they proceed to list of stuff like web, apps, music, camera. I let them know that droid does all of that and some phones even better. So i grab my phone and show them my music player some photos ive taken etc.

They then go. But the droids for stupid people who don't know how to use the iPhone.
 
I just shruged it off and chuckled I know i have the better phone for me, and they got the phone thats fits them best lol.
