You know, I think I'll just keep my current ROM and play around with it. Not quite ready to make the jump to AOSPs. I'll post a picture of the setup I come up with. Thanks for the help!!!

Team Nocturnal has a couple of hybrid ROMs (Cross between Sense and AOSP) They have good stable roms so you may want to check those out before going full fledge AOSP if you decide to do so

After reflashing and totally re-doing my phone, I realized that my links were dead to my pics.
I fixed 'em.

I've been thinking of scrapping my current homescreen setup and switching to either a Matrix theme or Tron Legacy one.

I know CM7.1 has a RenderFx option where you can turn the entire screen to red/green/blue/etc... it's a pretty cool effect and the green would be PERFECT for a Matrix theme.

I've been thinking of trying out the Theme Kitchen too. Sigh... just when I get everything working right on my phone, I feel the undeniable urge to change everything all over again. <sigh>

I have been playing around with the kitchen....one thing it doesn't seem to do very well it's edit text in the notification bar very well so I end up with black on black text and it's maddening. Once I can get that figured out I can put together some pretty good themes.

In the "tweaks" in MikG 3.0, under system, you can "debloat" the rom, including removing all sense widgets and rosie.

Rosie is basically the Sense launcher, although it usually refers to more than that. Here's some basic info:

Just make sure you nandroid first, and have another launcher installed. (I actually pushed adw to system before removing rosie, to make sure my phone stayed stable).

My personal experience, yeah, removing as much of sense as possible usually speeds things up. That said, MikG is really fast for a Sense rom. But nandroid and give it a shot to see what you think.

The icon is wifi. I had the battery bar enabled but you can't really see it.
