N.E.A.K. Gingerbread kernel (v1.x)

Yeah, my phone won't unlock. Presume this will be ironed out in 1.3?
Unfortunately i am still searching for a fix, but is near...1.3 will still have this strange bug, 1.4 will surely fix it ;)
Anyway is not a big bug guys, nothing important in my opinion

Welcome to Android Forums, Simone!

Thanks for looking in to say hello, and I hope you'll continue to do so if/when you have time. It's always great to meet the devs who work so hard to make our devices better.

Hello Simone201!

Thanks for taking the time to come and visit us here.

I think I speak for all of us when i say that your work is very much appreciated and that we are really looking forward to v1.3 and the new ROM.

As you can see we are quite a friendly bunch on here and any input from yourself, as developer, is appreciated.

I suppose that this would be a good time to publicise your new Q&A forum on xda which can be found here:-

[REF]N.E.A.K. Kernel for I9100 - Non Dev issues and any questions regarding kernel - xda-developers

I'm guessing that there's going to be a few people hitting the F5 button this weekend.... of course... you could always let us download early and that way we won't clog up your system. :D:D:D

Spot on ironass. I couldn't of put it better myself (probably quite literally at the moment)

Agreed. You can't take a photo or record anything with the screen locked anyway.

chomping at the bit then ironass.

seriously though simone there are plenty on here would happily get testing and give constructive feedback to an early version without the negativity you often see on xda ;)

You sly old fox.
Are you seriously that eager to brake it? :D

Too bloomin right I am Syd... thanks to you!

I want to get in quick before you put the KOD, (Kiss Of Death) on it with the Sydney99 curse that I think even gokhanmoral is starting to believe in with the Siyah kernel.... I know I do!

In fact, to save the rest of us a lot of time and trouble, I think simone should do what gokhanmoral did and release a N.E.A.K. v1.3S99 just to get the curse out of the way.

Nothing personal, you understand old son! :D

Releasing 1.3 or tomorrow or on sunday....
As tomorrow i go skiing and i dunno if i will be able to release 1.3 anyway

Skiing!

I try to avoid any sport that has an ambulance waiting at the bottom of the hill. :D

Thanks for the update though.

What is it today, there's a south African going on about thirty six degree heat, an Italian off skiing. Seems our international chums are having all the fun whilst we're stuck in the doldrums of dreary old uk. Oh well, a nice new rom will lighten our spirits.

Hope simone201 has a oap-friendly big-text version for you ironass

Yeah... but look on the plus side Syd.

It'll still be 36C or snowing for them, tomorrow and the next and the day after that. Whilst we, on the other hand, can experience all four seasons in one day in the UK.

I think we need to have a serious chat with simone201 about getting his priorities right. ;)

Hope simone201 has a oap-friendly big-text version for you ironass

Speak up old boy... I can't hear you! :D

Cheers Simone. I've been looking forward to this!

Early signs are excellent indeed. Very smooth on the homescreens and app drawer. As smooth as Siyah 2.6.5, which was the smoothest yet for me.

Looking forward to see how battery compares tonight.

Notice that min/max is 200/1200 by default, and vr/lulzactive scheduler/governor.
I usually set it to 100/1000 but I will stick to your defaults initially to see how they perform.

Will there be a separate XDA thread for the ROM?

First impressions are good. Its quick and smooth. Not really much difference between this and siyah.

v1.3x is up!!! :)
see XDA for download links and more

Thanks for posting that on here!

Looks like you didn't break anything on the ski slopes then simone201.

Unlike this, "sport", that I've taken part in and takes place near here...

Cheese Rolling - Our Official Movie ( watch it in HQ ) - YouTube

Just installed v1.3. Using Lionheart governor and sio scheduler. 100 -> 800MHz with small u/v.

All looking good so far. Very fast boot-up. Smooth scrolling. If I can get around 24 -> 27 hours with my normal usage, I'll be a happy bunny.

Ironass, please tell me you don't do that just so you can win a block of cheese! How many pints get consumed before you do this? Too frikking funny!!!

You would be surprised the lengths people from the Cotswolds go to for some cheese.
Last time ironass attempted it he broke his walking stick and he couldnt get the mud out of his slippers for weeks!

You don't honestly think I would do that sober do you... I'm not that stupid!!!

The Health and Safety bunch tried to get it banned a few years back because of all the broken limbs and spinal injuries. They really do have a fleet of ambulances there. Just watch some of the other YouTube videos. Myth has it that it stems from the days of the Roman Empire when the Brit's around here would cut Roman heads off and chase them down the hill. Come to think of it... we still don't get a lot of Italian visitors!

Come on lads, what governors and schedulers are you on?

Any u/c or u/v?

The 2nd Core and lulzactive app's work with this.

I've noticed a small bug. If I use voltage control to make an init.d script which sets the max clock to 1000mhz whenever I reboot my phone its set at 1200. All other changes in the script work fine though.

My config is 100-1200 with lulz/vr with heavy UV

I tried lulzactive + vr over the New Year on v1.2 with 100 -> 800MHz, no u/v and was very impressed. I also ran Lionheart with the same set-up and found it even smoother and roughly the same on battery for me.

Is there really a big difference between lulzactive and Lionheart with battery usage on N.E.A.K.?

I find that if I go below -50MHz on each of my 100 -> 800MHz steps that I cannot play videos. I suppose the other answer is to go to 1200MHz but fear that I would lose out on battery savings.

Mine is Lulzactive/vr 100-1000. Just doing a full charge and then will see how battery works with 1.3...
