Root Nandroid backup a lifesaver

Mikestony

~30% Carbon Black ±
I just flashed the new radios 2.15.00.12.19 with pri 233.03 and wimax_nv.
Well, it didnt go well...lost some system apps and phone kept rebooting after 5 minutes of use...long, long, long story short, I did make a nandroid backup before flashing...GLAD I DID..let me tell you it was a lifesaver...
So if you don't think you need it for something as trivial as flashing radios, I'm here to tell you, and so are alot of other people...NANDROID BACKUP:):):)

well that is odd because nandroid backups do not backup radios. not sure what that was all about. glad you are up and running. so what is your baseband now?

I actually find flashing radios to be one of the most nerve wracking things I do on my phone... freaks me out! Roms on the other hands... :)

Glad it all worked out for you. Nandroids = your friend.

I also very rarely flash radios and only if its necessary. Seems like the only threads I've seen where a phone was truly and completely bricked was when the user tried to flash a radio and something went wrong.

What ROM did you flash with? Nandroid doesnt backup radios actually the only way to change a radio is to flash it. You can upgrade or downgrade but YOU have to flash the file. Your More than likely on the new Radios still. Did you wipe cache and dalvic?

I realize that radio's don't get backed up..my baseband is still 2.15.00.12.19... don't know if when I flashed the new radio's, my wimax was updated...it's just after I flashed the radio, my phone acted goofy..yes I wiped cache, dalvik before...twice...flashed radio, rebooted, acted goofy (kept rebooting on it's own)....so I went into Amon ra v2.3 recovery and wiped and restored from good backup..all is good now so far. I have MikG 3.0 rom with chop suey kernel..

The only funny thing is..I click on menu, settings, applications, manage applications, click on all and some of the system apps' icons are the same....such as brombluetoothServices, Archive Viewer, Certificate Installer, com.htc, and more...the icons are white and blue squares with the little andoid guy on it....dont recall those icons like that before this whole radio flash thing

ok..now I was going to post a screen shot, but now I cant view my sd card on my computer even when I mount the phone as a disc drive....am I missing drivers?

Ok now its working ....wth..
here is screen shot

Those are normally just the Android guy.
I have those but in green. You must have a blue theme on your rom.
