Root Nandroid backup did not restore screens??

Newbie
I did a nandroid restore for the first time and it failed to completely restore the phone -- all my screens are blank. I thought it was supposed to restore the phone completely, just as you had it when you backed it up?

FWIW, I was running Myn's Warm and was restoring back to Virtuous.

Any advice on what went wrong or how to correct this?

Thanks but that failed too. Soo... I checked the file sizes of the backup and two of the files had zero size! The backup was about 40MB short compared to previous backups I did (and saved to my PC). I don't recall the SD card being full when I did this backup (I usually check beforehand so I don't run out of space during the process). Kinda interesting that the phone appears to be working in this situation. Time to restore a previous backup.

Man that's kinda strange. When you made the backup did it get done real quick or go through the usual steps and time frame? And I'm just asking this out of my own curiosity...did you make the backup in Rom Manger or directly in Clockwork?

I use ROM manager for backups and I don't recall any error msgs or it not taking the usual amount of time. Something to look out for in the future I suppose.

Now please don't take this the wrong way, but things like this are exactly why I have never, and will never, use ROM Manager. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with ROM Manager, because there isn't. To me there's something about flashing manually through CWM that is awesome and I wouldn't want to give that up. I also feel that if it isn't broke then don't fix it. I'm sorry you had problems with your backup. I also would suggest manually going into CWM and making backups from here on out.
