Root Nandroid backup with voodoo

I can't get a backup to work since I installed voodoo, how do I get them to work? I wanna try superclean dl09 but I can't backup what I have right now

What do you mean you can't get it to work? What is not working? I just did a backup earlier today and I just installed voodoo a couple days ago.

That's what I was thinking. Can I just disable it, backup, then re-enable it?

The only problem about doing that is you would be making a backup with no kernel in it at all. What is customized about your dl09? We may be able to figure out what's causing the fc's

I'm Not following. When I had the problem, I couldn't do anything with my phone. I had to flash back via odin

I think I'm just going to unroot. This is stupid, my Incredible was easy, and so was my ally

please don't hate the phone.. =D

as far as development goes, the SF is in an expanding/growing stage still.

thats just my 2 cents. patience grasshopper, patience =D

The main thing that seperates the root experience on glaxy s phones is voodoo....its not bad at all (anymore anyway) but it kinda requires you to put both feet in if you plan on backing up and restoring frequently...as the two recoveries aren't really interchangable for backup/restore

Its a pita to get used to i suppose but once you are...its no biggie anymore. :)

well since you said that, nit, whats the typical way of making nandroids for voodoo vs. non-voodoo?

The only thing i've done is disable lag-fix, flash non-voodoo kernal, delete voodoo folder

If you are already on voodoo5 and plan on staying on it...,its just the regular backup/restore in red recovery

If youre on nonvoodok.same thing but in green recovery...,the only issues are when you.jump.back.and forth from v5 to nonvoodoo or if you are on v5 and accidently making backups in green recovery

i havent personally tried to restore a nonvoodoo cwr backup on voodoo, but know people have had issues with it

best bet for backups is red cwr if you have voodoo

i dont think green recovery properly backups with voodoo anyway

thanks!! backing up current set up on red recovery...:o

Question about nandroids in voodoo. Can I go into the CWM folder on my SD card and rename the backups something other than the default name? I would like to name them something like rom-voodoo kernel version-date so I know what they include and when they were made.

I didn't know if this would mess it up if I ever needed to restore from that backup.
