First of the the playoff games is tonight, Indiana at Notre Dame.

Years ago, I worked around a guy that was the most avid fan of the Notre Dame football team.
I've known devout fans of this team or that but nobody that comes close to his passion for his team. He lived and breathed their season and his life hung on the results of each game. I'll be rooting for the fighting Irish tonight just to honor his memory.

Given Indiana's strength of schedule they shouldn't even be in the college playoffs, nor should Penn State. I hope they make some changes to this format sooner than later.

And they look like they are hardly even trying. This is a very disappointing start to the new playoff format, but I'm in no way surprised. You can play cupcakes all season and expect to be competitive when it really counts.

What a major disappointment all 4 games were this week.

The Notre Dame - Penn State Orange Bowl CFP Semifinal is a decent contest so far. PSU has a three point lead and driving with six min left in the first half.

That was an entertaining game all the way through. I was sort of rooting for Notre Dame just because of a co-worker fan from years ago. They won tonight but I would have enjoyed the game if Penn State had won. Final score 27-24

The second half of last nights NCAA football semifinal is on tonight with the winner seeing Notre Dame in the national championship. Ohio State will be playing Texas in the Cotton Bowl tonight and can be seen on ESPN. I hope the game is as fun to watch as last nights game.
