A man after my own heart. After flashing XXLSJ over NEAT LPY, for testing purposes, I have spent today doing a, "clean", install as you have described and for the very reasons you mention. :)
 
I believe that the lock screen issue is well known with all the other variations ( well, the first release non rooted and the simplistic release)

I know I've encountered it with both simplistic and neat, I just feel it's a minor issue and it doesn't happen each time.

although this is a stock Samsung Rom, it's not actually official, and I think there may be another unofficial leak before any proper release!
 
The thanks are all due you, Sale. I'd sworn never to let TouchWiz darken my home screen again, but I'm actually quite liking what Samsung have done with 4.1.2. :o

I know, why do you think I call "Emma" a "stupid bint" when the missus is in the car ? ;). BTW from Llandudno to Barry she'd hunt you down and purposely scratch your SGSII if she thought you were calling her a bint. She really hates that word, it's worse than any other insult in her eyes and seeing how she rolls her eyes when I'm reading or posting here and mutters "geek" under her breath, believe me, your SGSII would suffer.

lite came through on the email half an hour ago... looks well better than full Rom ( little mods in it such as 4way reboot etc...) downloading as I type :-)

Afaik Samsung haven't released the kernel source yet, and until they do custom kernels aren't possible. Right now I think the 'best' option is the one Sasa includes, PhilZ_3.5.

INSTALLATION:

I strongly recommend NANDROID backup first


Installation without wipe:

-Download and place zip on internal sdcard
-Go to recovery
-Wipe cache
-Advanced
-Wipe dalvik cache
-Install Rom




Installation with Full wipe:

-Download and place zip on internal sdcard
-Go to recovery
-Wipe data
-Wipe cache
-Wipe dalvik cache
-Mounts and storage
-Format system
-Install Rom
-First boot takes about 5-10 mins, so don't panic
-Reboot device

I've been on the full fat version for nearly 24 hours now & loving it. I also have the, intermittent, lock screen problem - but I can live for this in the short term as the ROM is super smooth.

The only other issue I've had is an app locking up. The only way to get out of the app was to turn the screen off until android dumped the app.

Since I've unplugged this morning, 1h 51m, my kernel wake lock is a hefty 1h 14m with the main culprits being wlan_wake, wlan_rx_wake, l2_hsic and multipdp all over 5 minutes each.

Overall this is a very impressive ROM, considering its the 1st release of it makes it even more impressive!!!
 
Can I format my internal storage before flashing jb neat Rom... currently on 3.6 neat Rom. I want to have as little on my phone when I have the new Rom on it...

I have formatted my external sd card already just have barely any space internally...
 
Settings > Sound > System, Haptic Feedback

You'll have to double check some apps that use it also. I had to turn it off on swiftkey separately.
 
Another thing I noticed about the ROM was the size of the text for a notification, which is quite large.

Is there any way to change this? I've changed the system font size to small, but this doesn't change the notification font size.
