Root Need help... Badly...

I'm not tech-savvy and desperately need some good easy to understand basic help. I rooted my wife's phone and then downloaded a ROM manager to backup the ROM. When I selected the backup function the screen went black and only displayed the LG symbol (LG Optimus T) and stayed there for hours. I removed the battery and then tried to restart the phone and then got the following message:
Fastboot mode started
udc_start()

If I plug in the charger then I get a message stating that the fastboot is suspended. The phone does not move from this screen. I can pull the battery and then press and hold the home button and power button at the same time, then the phone will go back to the LG Symbol screen. The app was supposed to backup the ROM to the storage card. Is it supposed to take this long to backup the ROM? Did I do something wrong? How do I fix this?
My wife is really, really pissed at me now.
Can anyone help?

I plugged the phone into the computer and got a new set of messages:
Fastboot mode started
udc_started
-- suspend --
-- reset --
-- portchange --
-- reset --
-- portchange --
fastboot: processing commands

take off the batteries and put it back in and press and hold home ,power and volume down button that should to a factory reset

Not if somehow he mistakenly flashed the rom from a T-Mobile phone to the MetroPCS phone.

no. In his other post below this one he stated he has the Optimus T. I directed him to the section of androidforums for that phone.
Correct, I have the T-Mobile version. I did not mean to flash the ROM. I only selected the ROM backup feature. The program then asked me which model phone I had. Since the Optimus was not listed I guessed and picked the geekwise one. I think that was my downfall.

So now what do I do. My wife is so pissed at me.

If I was able to figure out the full firmware version for that phone I might be able to help using the same method I used to downgrade our Optimus M's.

For instance. The full file name for the Optimus M firmware is MS690ZV3_36.S3_36.P3014. With this information I was able to pull the firmware off LG's servers.

I tried the same method replacing MS690 with P509 (Optimus T model number) P509ZV3_36.S3_36.P3014 and got nothing.

You need to set up fastboot on your pc. Then you also need the flash_image bindary and a recovery.img for your phone.

With out fastboot you would have to use the lg updater(not recomended) let me know if you need help setting up fastboot!

I'm just packing up a flasher for this that will use the KDZ firmware updater plus the kdz file for the Optimus T. Will he be alright using that?

Yeah well so did all of us that downgraded our Optimus M's from 2.2.1 to 2.2 with my downgrader. Anyway about to post the fix here. Hopefully they're still paying attention. :D

Download this: Optimus T Flash.zip

Extract the file to your desktop

Run LGUSBModemDriver_WHQL_Eng_Ver_4.9.7_All_Win7.exe. these are driver files for LG phones.

Turn off your phone or pull the battery in your case. Just make sure it's off.

Plug the usb cable into a usb port on the back of your PC.

Turn on your phone. Hopefully your PC will recognize the phone and install the usb drivers.

If all goes well there run msxml.msi and install it.

Run KDZ_FW_UPD.exe and click the folder icon where it says "KDZ file" and select the V10L_00.kdz file that was in this package.

Click "Launch Software Update"

I believe from here on out it should flash your phone with the firmware that it came with it.

If it does not let me know. I may have a different approach.

Well if your computer isn't recognizing your phone then nothing will work.

You may want to see what richiedaze can come up with. You mentioned something about fastboot. He may be able to suggest a way to recover your phone using fastboot. I personally am a fastboot dummy at this point.

I think I just figured it out.

You need to put your phone in emergency mode first, which is back + vol up + power while usb is unplugged
then, install the driver pack as posted by andyo70
then plug your phone into your computer, wait for the computer to recognize the phone and install usb drivers.
then follow the steps mentioned by andyo70

That's what I did, and thanks to the file posted by andyo70, I was able to recover my phone!

He already has contacted me and said he fixed the problem using my method to successfully recover both his and his wife's phones. Apparently it didn't work on his own computer but did work using a different one.
