Okay im stuck. I was running the original CM7 and i tried to update to the nightly build 4. It installed fine, but wouldnt boot and just froze at the M logo. I could no longer get into CWM but only stock recovery. I knew i needd to sbf, but i got the "battery low cant program". So im stuck at not being able to charge my battery to sbf, cant get into CWM, but CAN get into the stock recovery. Is there anything i could flash from there to take my phone back to stuck possibly? Thanks.

and i have an SD card adapter and SD card slot so i can get whatever i want on to my SD card

No. You could try a factory reset and clear data and cache then try and boot up. If that doesn't work you will have to get your batt charged and SBF again.

Okay thanks for the reply. any way to charge my battery with my phone in its current state at all or do need to use someone elses phone?

There is a way but it's not fun. You have to take a usb cable and cut the end off( not the end that plugs into your pc) and strip the red and black wires. Then you have to touch the red wire to the positive terminal on you phone and the black wire to the negative terminal on your phone and carefully, without the wires falling out, put your battery back in.

It will make the phone think the battery is fully charged. If that's too much of a pain in the butt just have someone you know with a DX charge your battery for you. Or go to a VZW store and they can charge it for you.

If you plug the phone into the wall charger and it boots into CWM you are golden. Just reset and clear data/cache on you should be good to go and then just charge your battery up.

first i would boot into stock recovery...try a data wipe...if you can't get there then you're going to need to...

1. borrow another battery
2. see if someone will charge yours
3. see if a verizon store will charge it for you (hit or miss)
4. hack up a usb cable to force the phone to charge
5. buy a motorola factory cable from team black hat

thanks for the replys. so would i leave the cables on for a while or just quickly? i just do that during the sbf? i actually have done that before, but i might have misunstood and i left it on there, my battery swelled up, and it made my phone unable to charge any battery and i had to get new phone and battery

Agree with the other answers in here, borrow a battery from someone else that has an X.

For the future, pick up some cheap extra batteries off of ebay or somewhere with an external charger. I have 3 regular batteries plus the VZW extended battery that I keep in my X and I have an external charger.

Yes you would only do this with the usb cable while you are SBF'ing the phone. But keep in mind this can be dangerous. You could fry your battery, phone, or both if you do it wrong.

Once the phone is SBF'ed back to stock you would remove the usb cable from the pc and carefully remove the other end from your phone. Then if your battery is dead you would just plug her up to your wall charger and let it charge like normal.

From your last post I would say you are not good at doing this or at the very least, not comfortable doing it...lol. Might I suggest you try one of the other methods? It might give you more piece of mind.

I guess I'll add my 0.02 cents here:

Make sure you have your battery at 100% before applying any mods, no matter how small/easy you think the mod/update will be; especially if you are not experienced on how to fix your phone in case something does go wrong.

It seems like every other day people get into this same problem where they can't fix their phone because their battery is too low.

Ok, my 0.02 cents are spent ;)

I wonder if people who run out of battery because they decided to mod on 30% battery or whatever, are also the same kind of people who regularly call AAA because they ran out of gas, or eat a meal at a restaurant and realize only after that they forgot their wallet? ;)

I'm joking, of course... but if you take a trip and don't know if there are gas stations along the route, you fill up before you leave. If you know you're going to have to pay for a meal, you check for your wallet before you sit down. And if you are modifying your phone in any way, you should charge before you start.

Team Black Hat had some cables that had specific wiring that allowed your phone to be powered directly from the USB port. They weren't cheap but it could come in handy...

Another option on charging the battery is there are battery chargers out there for a cheap as $6. I got one because we are going on vacation and I plan to use my X as a camcorder, since it is HD and smaller and easier to carry than a real camcorder. So I picked up an extra battery for $22 and a wall charger so I can charge one battery in my phone and night and the back up with the charger. I have never had a problem, but it is nice to know I have a back-up plan if needed.
