Just to clarify, you'll need to be on a Sprint sense rom, a sense rom where profile update and prl update is possible
To the op: do you know what rom you're on or what recovery you have?

It has to be a sense rom that allows prl and profile update. Ported sense roms from another carrier will NOT allow Sprint to activate the phone
the good thing is the mikg is not a ported rom so prl's and profiles can be done. also it has so that you can enter qpst codes as well. some rome do not have that feature, but mikg does.
Technically MikG is a port from the EVO shift. But its still a sprint port

I had forgotten that the Shift received sense 2.1 and one of the most popular android phones of all time stayed on sense 1.0, how disappointing
But aamikam is/was one of the best
