Root Need Help

Lurker
Hi everyone. I'm sorry but I need to ask for some help. I have a optimus V, and a while back I rooted it and installed a custom rom. But It was the first time I ever did it and I forgot exactly what I did and what I installed. So I was attempting to install Backside CM7 following the instructions here:

http://androidforums.com/optimus-v-...wip-backside-rom-cm7-green-machine-theme.html

But the recovery software I have installed may not be appropriate? I don't even know what it is, but when I hold the buttons to go into recovery mode it says Build: RA-thunderc-v-1.2.0-GNM.

So I followed the instructions in the link to the best of my ability (in the section that says "Installing from another ROM", but a couple of options were not there, like where it said to format boot, and mount system. I did mount data and cache. I followed all the other instructions exactly. So after installing the Backside.zip, gapps.zip and theme, I rebooted, but now it just boots right back into recovery. I do see a Backside splash screen, but it then just shows LG and goes into the recovery.
Can somebody please help me and tell me what to do? Maybe I need to install a different recovery, like the CQM Green recovery? I don't know. And I don't even know how to install a new recovery. All I remember is that when I rooted and did this a while back, I used my computer and connected via usb. This time I just put the zip files on my sdcard.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

EDIT: OK, sorry, nevermind. I just installed the Backside.zip a second time and that did the trick! Whew...

Now if someone could just tell me how to change the device name as it shows up on my router? I thought that was easily done in CM7, but I can't find where..

And anybody know how to change the MAC address?

What are you trying to see hidden files with? How did you set it up?
The recovery you installed is not the best for this phone.
The Touchscreen Recovery (use's touch screen virtual keys as well as the hard keys) or the BobZohme modified ClockworkMod recovery (VM670NH recovery.img) will do the best job on all Gingerbread, ICS, and Jellybean ROM's
