Root Need some clarifying please

antcjr

Newbie
I used to be on top of this rooting and rom stuff be have been really busy lately. I know with this OTA update some things have changed so i need some help.

1. I know I'm on the 2.2.1 Leak running Rubix Focused 1.9.0

2. I want to update to Rubix Focused 1.9.5 but it says "YOU MUST BE ON 2.3.340 OTA FOR THIS TO WORK"

3. So what do i need to do about updating to this ROM?

Thanks for any help.

you can use these patches to update ,,,,in this link there is a system updater you would use first then the other patches after,,,instructions are also found in this link
update patches:TBH Patches: 2.3.340-System, Baseband, 2.3.340-Kernel, Bootloader

or if that doesnt work you can just flash the .340 sysytem only sbf then use the kernal, bootloader and baseband patches to update everything else, here is a link for the sbf

If i use this to update will i be able to say that i'm on the "official OTA" or will it still be like a "leaked" version?

Is another way to SBF back to 2.1 and then take the OTA update from 2.1 and then Z4 root and everything else?

This will get you to stock (it was put out for users on the leaks)and since it is a different bootloader then 2.1 you will have a permant paper weight

Lol, its fine i now see where i messed up as well. I meant to say would it be much easier to SBF back to Stock 2.2 and then take the OTA update from the phone and then use Z4 root and etc...

Edit: Nvm, i now understand the links you gave me. Thanks again!
