I think I made a mistake...
I rooted a few months ago via unrEVOked and now I have to send in this Evo because my replacement comes tomorrow. The problem is that I didn't fully unroot the Evo. Such as, I changed the boot icon, the Amon-Ra Recovery is still loaded onto the phone, and I cannot access the homescreen!
What happened was that I more than likely skipped a couple of steps, however, I know for certain that my phone is not bricked.
I went to unrEVOked's website and they told me to install this .zip file onto the recovery and it would reinstate the S-On. Only problem is that I didn't realize that this only re-enables S-On and didn't do anything else. Also I used Calkin's Format so I deleted anything that was on my homescreen which was an Elite ROM.
So now when I start up the phone it has the custom boot screen and goes straight to bootloader no matter what combination or lack of you do when turning on the phone. At the top of the screen it says "S-On". I can still access Amon-Ra Recovery too.
What I would like to do is:
1. Change boot screen back to stock
2. Change Amon-Ra back to stock
3. Get the original Sense layout of the phone with simple Android 2.2.
I smashed the power/lock button on the phone from the outside by dropping it. The internal interface and everything still works. You just need to jab your finger-nail in it or something else to use the power button. That's why I'm getting a replacement.
Any help would be great. Links to downloads or tutorials would be great too thank you!

thank you very much ocnbrze and Mr. Ed

I already rooted like 2 minutes ago HAHAHA The stock was getting old and I wanted something new so I'm installing MIUI right now again. On my last Evo it gave me a few problems like phone flicker so I'd like to see how it runs on this replacement. I wanted to see if I could update to Gingerbread but I don't know...it didn't find any new firmware. Unrooting was SO simple that I figured it'd all be fine if I needed to unroot it again especially with the help you guys gave me here.
