Nerd's paradise: an Android watch!

Yes, it's really coming!

And here's an actually working prototype!

I'm Watch, i.MX233 Android Bluetooth wrist watch - YouTube

They do allow watches in my school, so I'm going to show up wearing one of these and see if I get a Saturday detention for technology violation! (At my school if you're caught with a cell phone/ipod/etc its an automatic Saturday detention)

Wonder how long it will take for it to be rooted and running a rom. Imagine how awesome a watch running CM would be :D

I want one of these, but i read somewhere that it will cost around $350 in the US. Which is way too expensive for me to even think about buying it.

Edit: yep its expensive, I've read several articles that say it will cost 250 euros.

I question the sanity of those making these watches. It has a call button, but no cell service bars. It has what looks like a camera icon in the notification bar, but I see no camera (would it be looking at your wrist?).

Probably works similar to the Sony Live View and just interfaces with/controls your phone over bluetooth.

I'm sure it's a similar rule in many schools. Although our students are allowed to have phones, iPods, PSPs, etc, on campus, they're NOT allowed to use them in class. If any student is caught using a phone etc, during lessons, it's confiscated for a week. TBH looking the various wrist devices in this thread, it's kind of obvious that they're more than just conventional timepieces. I am a teacher. They actually don't do detentions as such at my school, there are other punishments that students can receive for violating rules, e.g. extra cleaning duties instead of playing sports, although there is no corporal punishment here.

BTW Mada I see that you're in the US, so I assume you're not at a boarding school. How do they actually do the Saturday detentions there? Is there a special yellow schoolbus(short bus?) that takes offending students to school on Saturday mornings? Saturdays are a normal school day here, and most students here are boarding at the school

I smell a lawsuit ...

Probably wont happen though, looks like a fake Chinese iPod Nano with a strap. Rather fugly, I wouldn't wear it.

The watchbands for the new Nano are all over Apple's website. This was the only pick I could find that didn't have their goofy clock face on it.

You guys didn't know, apple patented the iWatch back in 1985, just in case. And it is an extremely vague patent "Any device worn on or about the wrist with an interactive glass face that allows you to to view digital images..." I am sure they will think of something to sue about, they always do
