Root Netflix work around? Is there a chance in hell this could work?

No. I had the version from the market installed as they had previously released an update that made it work just fine on my Ascend even though it isn't listed as a supported device in the description. A lot of people had this.

have you tried the build.prop change?

This happened to me when I changed roms. I had to do the workaround again, and uninstall netflix then reinstall it, then it worked. I haven't used the one from xda, i guess it doesn't have the device check....

I just reinstalled and it works just fine now. Lol. Thanks.

im a little ocnfused how to do this with root explorer can someone walk me though it, i already downloaded the netflix apk from xda.

I am still wondering why anyone has to do a fix to make netflix work. I downloaded it from the market and it runs great. I did this on my last flash and I just flashed to kmod this morning and downloaded netflix and it is up and running with no problems. I even checked in my netflix account under devices and it showed it as being a huawei. What is the deal. Am I just getting lucky or does the fix need to be done if you are not running CM7.
Thanks

I'm running PG's CM7.1 06242011 and it works fine straight from the market for me too.

When the netflix app was first release it had a device check in it. Since then its been hacked to remove it n I think it just plain doesnt have one now.

Can't get the sound louder when watching videos or netflix.

its very loud when playing angry birds.

Speakers always stunk plays only through one head phone

Is there a way to make videos play louder?

I'm rooted so I can edit text files.

Thanks,

Modman :-o?

I found that the bottom of my 2.5 to 3.5 headphone jack adapter was too wide and wouldn't let it plug all the way in, letting the sound only come through one side, sounding crappy with a low volume. A new adapter fixed that.
If that isn't your issue, maybe try fiddling with the loudness using DSPmanager.

Don't quite understand these settings? There are More settings for the headphones. For the equaliser should I use the tip or bottom settings to make the phone speaker louder? I can drag everything up or down I assume up is louder? 0 in middle bit 123456 top 123?

My phone still only plays out of one headphone.

The sound still stinks doesn't seem to get louder on regular speaker either unless I'm playing a game or making a phone call.

Not sure anything other than when it's time to get a new phone to fix this.

I'm running froyo 2.2 and I'm rooted.

Im running CM7 05212011 and on wifi the sound chops a little bit, but not the video, Im OC to 652Mhz, (I think I got a lazy ascend)

might be your data thats going in and out, use wifi for streaming movies from netflix and the sound, well the problem is the 2.5 mm jack that huawei decided to put in and they should be ashamed of them self...

I tried the xda version a month or so back and had random pops in the sound also on wifi a 1 MB/s (1000 kb/s) down speed and OC to 710.. haven't tried it again lately though so your not alone.. Haven't seen a specific patch for it

Weird, I've been using it since XDA came out with it, and I haven't had any audio or video issues. Its been flawless for me, except for slow menus.

you dont need to edit the build.prop for netflix to work, restore the original build.prop and uninstall and reinstall the app again, and make sure wifi is on or 3g if your with cricket.
