Root New .591 Gingerbread (Gingerblur) leak

I installed .591 right over top of Zombiestomped 1.2 with no wipe and it went great, I did loose root so I used Gingerbreak and it rooted within 5 min, you will need to install busybox as it does not do it for you. I am now running zombiestomped 1.6 and it is great !

Any Gingerbreak users have their SD card formatted?

Was going to root the .591 update (I've been using it unrooted) but didn't know if I should back up my SD card first.

i backed up my sd card before, but it was not needed since it did not format it. yay

Who is still getting wifi drops on .591? I am, but I think, perhaps, it's improved over .588.

Also, it seems as if I can get wifi to drop if I download a large file. I was downloading a 300MB video the other day and it dropped a few times while doing it, but just regular surfing, new apps, etc, I haven't seen it dropping much, if at all.

Maybe someone else can test out this theory?

I sure hope it gets fixed in the final OTA.

The better fix the camera not sticking to the set resolution in the OTA as well. Can't believe that's been missed through all of these leaks.

I have since flashed Apex 2.0. Same problem there as on the GB leaks (.573 through .591). I am trying different router settings as a workaround. If I find anything, I will let everyone know. Bizarrely enough, my work wireless is pretty good. My home wireless, even with the same settings, fails miserably.

PACAnesFan did you disable your firewall in your router and give the dx's ip addy unrestricted access? Not all router do this but some will restrict access by default to wireless devices.

I don't really notice a different between home and work routers. Can you see if downloading a large file constantly cuts off wireless? Since .591, I really haven't noticed the problem much, except when downloading a large file. I think maybe there have been a couple of other times I lost wireless, but not as often as .588.

They had better have this fixed in the OTA.

I do have the firewall disabled. My router is old as dirt. I think wireless was in its infancy when it first came out.

I had this same problem back in the Froyo days as well. The subsequent patch Moto pushed out after 2.2 fixed it. My Xoom also has the same connection issues as described above, so I am thinking it has to do with Moto's wireless drivers.

I usually use connectivity when the phone goes into its low power state (I leave my Wi-Fi sleep settings on never.) I do notice the same as you when downloading large files or streaming HQ Youtube over Wi-Fi. 3G does not cause any issues for me. .573 was horrid for me, as was .588. .591 was better, but not great.

PACAnesFan just out of curiosity, what are you getting for speeds on your wifi? At home I get 7MB down and 2MB up off my wireless. Now the 3g on the other hand, lets just say that's pathetic.

Not sure if I've noticed I lose it when it's sleeping or just randomly. I also use wifi sleep = never. Thanks for confirming that heavy data transfer frequently kills wifi for you as well.

I don't think I have any 3G issues as well. I'm on wifi probably 90% of the time though.

About the same (when it is working). My 3G isn't too bad. Although I have never done a speed test with it, usually I can stream HQ Youtube without too much buffering (which is fast enough for me.)

Horrible, i just got 3 reboots within 5 mins and this happens everytime I shut screen off. (Listening to pandora and browsing )
Might restore the. 588

I had this problem with pandora on .588 and haven't had it on .591. I would try installing it again. Are you restoring any of your apps?

Does Gingerbread wipe sd card? Going to d/l this and try it
Upgrading to Gingerbread won't wipe your SD card, but there's a small chance that Gingerbreak will, which you have to run if you want to stay rooted. I made a backup of mine, but it didn't get erased.

So can anyone help me with this. I bought the TBH app back when it was on the market and through formatting my SD card and not saving backups I've lost the TBH app and don't know how to get it back. Any ideas?? I know you don't need it for .591 but to get .595/6 you do.

Supposedly you can get it from the team black hat site, look up your order number from the market, and use your phone number associated with the order number.
