You are part way there. Can you get into recovery from hboot? If so, reboot your phone and see if you have the superuser app in your app drawer. If not, then we can finish this up manually.

i have super user app now. but when i open it. nothings there. except hitting menu opens up preferences.

Try this, download terminal emulator from the market. Open is and type "su" without the quotes. See if the $ turns into a #. If so, you are rooted and we just need to get your recovery flashed.

mayeb try what xtreme sugested first just to be sure...dl terminal emulator from the market. open it and type su, it should change from & to # and super user should pop up and ask you to allow it to have su permission, choose allow

That would be on your phone but you can dl it on your pc and transfer it to your sd card via usb if you like. we'll get there in a sec...hopefully

ok, got it to work. downloaded it again. the $ turned to # i allowed super user

had to download android terminal emulator. the regular "terminal emulator" forcecloses.

thats not the usual lol...we'll deal with that later. Dl titanium back up root it also requests su rights, also wimax key checker requests su rights...try to download and open either of those and they will tell you if you have su rights.

Edit: Should have refreshed. OK great you are a su on your phone you can edit /system. good stuff. now we need to get you a recovery.

Go to that link pc36img recovery or whatever it was and download the pc36img recovery zip for amon ra 2.3

Once it is dl'ed place it on the root( top level/not in a folder) on your sd card and name it pc36img make sure it is a .zip but be sure not to name it pc36img.zip.zip...follow?
