So is he for sure still working on the Supersonic (Evo)? We're certainly not mentioned anywhere, but I think we were when he originally started developing Anthrax V2.

Did anyone here have issues with wifi not working with this kernel mixed with Mikg 3.0 or any other ROM? My wifi would just cycle and say it was unable to search. This is the test version 009 and I'm running Mikg 3.0 BTW.

The only time I had problems with wifi was when I used the AOSP test kernel on Miui. Everything worked smooth except for that :/

It still says later in the OP (near the download links I believe) that it should be ported to supersonic, so I hope we weren't forgotten about.

Ha, well it likely won't be for long. I'm holding out for a Deck ICS build. Call it brand loyalty or whatever, but I really want to get a build of his with working camera, which is supposedly not far off. I tried Drew's version and it just isn't very snappy IMHO. I thought that Deck's versions were a little quicker for me. But then again, maybe everything just seems slow now after the Mik/Anthrax combo.

Sorry, I didn't want to wade thru fifty+ pages in that xda thread. This thread mentioned "USB Host". I didn't think kernels dealt with USB?

I'd love a sense rom that offered a full Bluetooth stack, this can't help provide that, could it?

The dev talked about the Kernels USB host feature in the original thread over on Xda, but I'm not sure if that thread is still available because of the legal issues. Click the link in my OP.

Dang, I wanted to try this on a new rom. So freaking sad I didn't save it on my computer when I downloaded it the first time. -__-

Just a quick result of unscientific test of Galileo 2000 battery life:
Now 30+ hours since unplugging : 31% battery remaining

Kernel: Anthrax 2.6.38.8 REV_zzzTESTzzz009
ROM: MikG 2.61
Set CPU: smartass scaling, min 245, 998 max

3G radio off when using auto WiFi enabler

Modest phone, calendar, and messaging use

[will wait to see how long it takes to go down to 5-10% before charging or changing battery]

just flashed. I don't see how this phone can get any faster. Been running it for the last hour. Hopefully the batt is just as good as performance.

Battery life for me seems slightly lower than Aggressive Freedom, but after I top off the battery here I'm gonna max it out to see for sure.

I'm still seeing 2.5 hours of display time per charge, which is pretty decent IMHO. Stock battery on MikG 3.0. Maybe an hour and a half of music (mp3, not streaming) thrown in there.

The changelog is gone but it was just various bug fixes I believe. The test version was only a test because he wasnt sure if it would boot on our devices or not, but all is well so I'd say use that one.

Yeah I usually use the test version. No issues with it certainly. It added the lagfree governor, but I'm not sure what else was changed. They're both solid.

I love this Kernel but you just can't beat the battery life in AOSP. I have no clue why but I am lucky to get 6-8 hours out of my battery when running MikG or any Sense rom for that matter. I have my brightness set to 30-50% wifi scanning off and never touch the cpu settings. I just dont get it as I am a pretty light user, I usually only text and check XDA and Facebook.

Any ROMs out there taking advantage of the USB host mode? or is that just for the Evo 3d at this point?

It would be awesome if we could use a USB keyboard combined with a bluetooth mouse (or vice versa), an external harddrive, printer, etc... combined with HDMI out. My Evo has already pretty much replaced my old Powerbook. USB host mode would totally eliminate the need for the powerbook.

At this point, the kernel is way ahead of most ROM development out there. Give it a while and the ROM devs will catch up (assuming we get the new Anthrax ported to us)

FYI:
41 1/2 hours after unplugging phone, I had 18% battery remaining.

Would have let it go down further, but wanted to go to sleep, and was afraid to let it go to zero for fear of killing the battery.

Still on Anthrax v 009
MikG 2.61
