Hopefully we get Anthrax v2 soon (its available on 3VO now) so we dont have to keep passing these along under the table. I'm not sure we're supposed to be doing so.

It wont have beats, but oh well

Flashed a few hours ago, but it was date night and I was unable to really get a sense... Been playing with it for about an hour now and I can say that it blows away any kernel I've had yet. But please consider ther source, I've had my EVo rooted less than 2 weeks and tthis is only my 3rd kernel flashed. Can't attest to battery life, seems to be average, but it's so snappy I can hardly complain.

Glad I got it stored on my machine as well...

Ok I've been playing with it all morning, battery life is not so great, but I have everything sync to the max, wifi and gps on constant, overclocked to the near max, actually nothing is set in a battery saving setting...it's all about performance, which this kernel definitely offers. Gonna try a battery saving approach and see how well it performs and I'll post back.

Naive question: Where do i find the different settings to change the 'efficiency' of the kernel (and how to change them)?

I don't think the innate properties of a specific kernel can be changed through a user interface. What I'm talking about is using a battery saving app, changing the governors on setcpu, changing screen brightness etc.

Though I'm frequently wrong so wait for more seasoned answer.

I assume you mean setting the clock speed and governor? I would suggest setcpu. You can set different profiles for different phone states, as well as adjust clock speed and change the governor. The only tweak I've done is to make a screen off state with the CPU speed set at 384/384. Other than that I left it alone and I get solid speed and battery life with mikG 3.0.

Did anyone here have issues with wifi not working with this kernel mixed with Mikg 3.0 or any other ROM? My wifi would just cycle and say it was unable to search. This is the test version 009 and I'm running Mikg 3.0 BTW.

I had no issues with rev 004 and mikG 3.0, but didn't try 009 with it.

Ok, I had to go back into my settings and governors and make some adjustments... On full battery saver mode this kernel is sluggish. So if you have a need for speed and your phone has got to make it through the day.... Then again, this is only day 1, I'll give it 2 more days.

I threw this on my MikPurple 3.0 a couple days ago. Very snappy and I got slightly better 3g with it!! +1 to the Dev!!!!!

I have not had issues with WiFi, BUT the battery life has been quite variable. For several days, the battery meter only would go down 1-2% per hour (2000 mAh battery), but past few days it has gone down 5+% per hour with no change is usage. Partial wake usage in Battery History has not shown anything. Strange! Set CPU set on 'interactiveX' with 998K Max & 245K Min.

MikG 2.61

Did you calibrate? Also, I always turn off auto brightness and any kind of haptic feedback/vibration.

Hm weird. I'll have to try to re-download and give it another go. It was definitely the kernel though as MikG 3.0 rom freshly installed had wifi working fine. Wipe cache, dalvik, install kernel, repeat wipe. No more wifi. Tried this twice. Thanks for the info guys.

Because the screen display easily takes up the most power. So cutting down on that saves considerable battery life. I have my brightness setting nearly all the way down, and as long as your not in direct sunlight you can see easily

If anyone needs them I have them on my Dropbox, just PM me if you are interested in them. I have 004 and test 009

Hi would you mind shooting me a PM link to the anthrax kernels with beats that got pulled for the Evo 4G? I really appreciate it. I'm too new to send you a PM request. Thanks

Was really hoping his new kernel would be ported to us by now. I'm also glad to see he stopped development for the handsets that caused all the trouble in the first place.
