hope it works for u! oh and welcome to the forum
yeah i suggest u ditch kies. use Odin to update firmware via this guide
[ROM + Guide]Official i9100 Firmwares KF1/2/3/4/, KG1/2/3/5/6/7 Download - xda-developers
i recommend KG5 (OXA Poland) which is the newest official firmware, its android 2.3.4 and much better than wat kies just updated ur phone with![]()
for transfering data, just plug in ur phone via usb and u should see it appear in ur Computer as a device. if u plug in ur phone and u see "MTP connected" in ur phone's notification bar.. u should see it as a device on ur computer
if u see a USB connected, u have to select it and choose to mount ur memory to the computer, and then u will see it as a removable drive. then its just drag n drop afterwardshope it works for u! oh and welcome to the forum

, does anyone know how I can update my phone now?Hi,
when I fire up Kies, it shows me what the current firmware is (PDA:KE2 / PHONE:KE2 / CSC:KE2 (ORA) ), but doesn't either tell me I have the latest firmware or give me the option to update. If I right-click the phone in the sidebar, the "Firmware update" box is greyed out. I definitely didn't imagine the update option last week, does anyone know how I can update my phone now?
kg5 is missing talk video chat. kg2 is the best![]()
u can always flash the google video chat fix over KG5 and u got the best of both
... does anyone know how I can update my phone now?
follow this guide
the latest official is XXKG5 (OXA Poland) on that guide.. i think many people on xda including intratech himself (the guy who created that thread and uploads the firmware) think KG5 is the best so farYep the extra line is missing for me and the option is greyed out too.
if video chat is more important than seriously better battery life, go aheadu can always flash the google video chat fix over KG5 and u got the best of both
