Bahahaha! I'm not even going to edit it. That's apparently the type of button I have after spending a good portion of my day hiking. :p:D

I do wish that likes showed up somewhere in TT though. BTW, I love Lake George, I have to get back there soon.

I would like to see that implemented as well. It would be a nice addition.
Lake George is our yearly family vaca spot. I have to admit that I think of you every time we see a Mass plate. Although you are much friendlier than the ones we've met.

It is also awesome to see post formatting much improved with the new forum plugin (lists included). I'll continue the Lake George conversation to the Watering Hole.;)

I love the option of having both, if you don't mind. :)

Yes please. I like that I can choose whether I like or thank a post.

I like thanks for lets call it street cred, but I like how the like thing highlights the useful posts in a thread.

I see it as the other way round actually. When it was a thanks-only system, I wasn't sure whether to thank a post sometimes because it wasn't necessarily a 'useful' post, even though I liked it.

I have noticed posts receiving lots of 'likes' when they are funny, or have a 'street cred' appeal, but are not in any way 'useful' - unless bringing cheer to people and making the world a more pleasant/interesting place can be considered useful. Of course it can, but you can see why a thank you is more appropriate for a post which offers technical solutions and is helpful.

I think being able to discriminate how I feel about a post and respond appropriately is close to an ideal system. I like having both options.

if the THANKS system could be modified to be similar to the LIKES system so that threads could be sorted by THANKS. I don't think that having both is the solution because it makes both systems less effective as some people will LIKE and some people will THANK, and in the end what you really want is everyone doing one or the other to get a true reading.

Sometimes I will like AND thank. I agree though, that it would be good if we could also sort threads by thanks - as thanked posts are supposed to be 'useful'.

for me, if i like the post then i click "like" and if the post is helpful then i click "thanks"

Yes. I believe I thanked and liked this post. I will probably be liking useful posts more than I have been now that I know they can be sorted. But I will also thank them.

Maybe its been said (I'll admit to not reading some of the posts here) but I would have thought that 'thanks' are for the helpful stuff and 'likes' for the fun stuff that may or may not be helpful, such as a funny picture.

Thank you. I like that.

Got to say I disagree. Useful information is thanks too for me. I'm with DoubleBobble on this one :)

Same here. Please do not get rid of the thanks.

And of course, telling them you love them :)

I literally laughed out loud. :)

I have 23,852 thanks and 681 likes - I was just giving you a good-natured hard time. :)

There. A perfect example of a thanks AND like post. Thanks because it was relevant to the discussion. Like because of its good-natured humour.

Those quoted statistics kind of speak for themselves. But hell you're doing ok with the likes since they've only been in operation for like a month. :)

Is there any movement on disabling notifications for "likes"?
Myself and a lot of other staff get many PMs and I'd rather just be notified for those and not necessarily likes.

Ohhhhh, I misunderstood (not hard to make happen this week). I thought you meant notified in an email. I do see those notifications. :o
