New Market Version

OK, so everything seems to function fine now. I have no explanation really. I tried rebooting many times, and other suggestions from this thread but none really worked. That is, until it just started working normally after several hours for paid apps.

I can only guess that for some reason it took a few hours for the new market to fully sync with my account perhaps.

In any case, thanks Frisco for all the help and suggestions. Glad to be back in full working order with the 2.2 Market :)

Good news Don. Ghost in the Machine I guess
 
I just wanted to mention that I had another small issue with the 2.2 market (not worth going into) and discovered that since it is a system app, it's easy to revert to the 2.1 market version after all (all my prior posts in this thread to the contrary :) ).

If needed, one can go into the Settings, manage applications, and find the "market" app. Then just click the "uninstall updates" button and that was it. Took all of 30 seconds :) . I can be patient and await the full 2.2 release for the updated market app I guess, but good to know it's easy to revert ! Just some FYI ..

Good tip Don. I havent had a single issue yet, I also didnt get the OTA update I manually installed the apk. But certainly some people are having issues with the 2.2Market

I hadn't till you pointed it out. Mine does not display anything though; its basically just a big button. One touch and Im in the market but I have the same thing with one of my LP dock icons so I wont use the widget. Good find though
 
I asked my friend that has the droid x to see if he has the widget and sure enough he does. He said all it does is scroll through some featured apps and others.
