New netflix app

Works on mine! 595 deodexed gb over 3g! Haven't tried over wifi yet. Picture quality pretty good. as good as youtube hq!

Flashed .595, tried the app, didn't play video. Uninstalled, reinstalled, and BAM it worked.

No idea what any of this means, but if you do, then have at it:

As soon as I saw that it was released to some HTC phones, I grabbed it and installed. Was excited to discover that it worked for me on .595 dedexed, rooted but by the time I got around to tweeting, my timeline was full of the great news.

no dice on .591 Apex 2.0 rooted, I'm going to flash .595 and give it a shot. assuming i don't bootloop since i'm still new at all this flashing nonsense.

For Apex users... Fab tweeted he was looking into it. It' already been corrected on a nexus I believe.

Doesn't work for me. .591 deodexed.

It loads the timeline for the stream, but never plays. If I click ahead on the timeline it 'buffers' for a bit, then just sits there.

How can I get netflix working on my DX running stock 2.2 (340)/rooted?

Do I just have to edit the build.prop and change ro.product.model=HTC Vision ?

Anyone tried that?

I think you're going to have to upgrade to .595 (or some people are saying .588? Weird that .591 would be left out).

But you should upgrade anyway, I think you'll be very happy with the results.

The major problem I have found is that it drains power at an amazing rate! I literally watched 20 minutes an my battery dropped 20%.

Ok the only way I could get it working was by making it think I was on a nexus s, but this broke swype and probably some other things. Nothing I tried worked to keep it thinking I was on a dx ... Weird

Well I have gotten further than I ever have before. I am on Gingerbread with Apex Alpha 2.0 and I can login pick a movie, it takes me to a screen to watch it and I can move the slider and it will buffer but no movie will play. I am going to try Wifi when I get home tonight as I am suing 3G right now.

im using apeX beta and i got the app installed, picked a movie and it says the netflix service is not avliable for your device

can we upgrade to .595 with apex 2.0.0 and run it??? it seems to run well on that. i have a old droid1 i could try it on maybe

i got it working following a guide at droidmodderx, i dont know if im allowed to post a link here so if you wanna know pm me, i just loaded a video on 3g and it played, and my area for 3g is shady so the dl speed is whack, but it still works, im bout to try it on wifi and see how well it goes and i will report back

I'm lucky it works for me i'm on .595 Deodexed no apps frozen. Has anyone tried real hdmi and the netflix app yet? I don't have a cable otherwise I would try it for you guys.

I can't get RealHDMI to recognize that it's plugged in at all.

Works on my DX with the GB leak still installed. It isn't totally smooth, though. The video is pretty nice, but I imagine it works better on the newer hardware coming out on phones. The app itself doesn't respond very quickly. Still works pretty nicely for video, I'm happy we finally have netflix :)

since realhdmi has not been updated for gingerbread yet, i am unable to test :(

It seems to almost work, it works on other unsupported.phone, maybe some way to trick it. Can download it here [APP] Netflix - xda-developers

edit: ok if you edit your build.prop to say model nexus s manufacturer samsung, this breaks integrated swype and maybe some other things though

I am running. 595 GB but when I download the netflix apk and then try to open it it says I do not have the application to open it. Wtf?? Any ideas??¿

From where did you open it? I got it from xda and it works fine for me.

That is where I got mine but after it downloaded and I clicked it normally it takes me to a install app screen but this one just gives me an error that I do not have the application to open that file.
