My friend rooted my phone for me today and he said he put on gingerbread. (Not sure what that means) It runs smooth with just a few problems. First, brightness wouldn't change until we did something with a kernel. Brightness now works but I cannot send MMS or receive MMS. When one gets sent to me I can see the message and i can click download but it never does. All help is appreciated!

Yes my Camera sure is broken...Didn't check tell now. I won't be able to meet up with my friend for quite a while. How hard is it to unroot this thing? He used unrevoked. This gingerbread is cool though I hope it gets working good sometime!

oh we have gingerbread working well, just not off of the leak yet 
you dont need to unroot just flash a different rom that actually works lol
If you want GB check out the link in my sig, it will take you to a list of roms. AOSP roms like CM7 and Kings GB and Evervolv are all gingerbread. You can download it. Go to recovery. Make a nandroid back up, then wipe boot, system, data, and cache, and then flash the new rom.
You can also flash a ton of sense roms that are froyo 2.2 but highly customized. They also link in the roms and kernels dl page in my sig.

That is one of the issues with the leak. With the nova screens it cant change brightness and if you change the kernel it breaks your camera among other things. That should officially be out in june i think, we just got it early, needs work still.
That is gingerbread with sense you are running. The working gingerbread roms we have dont have sense so it will look completely different, forgot to mention that. Surf around that link in my sig and this one and find a rom you like. then come back here for more help flashing it if you need

A lot like kings gb, it's based on cm7. I'm running cm7 itself and you can find the link in my sig for it specifically. If you flash cm7 you'll also need to flash a file called gapps. Just google gapps cm7 evo it should take you to their wiki or someone can link it for you...

for me i love kings gb r3 which is based off of cm7. however, i just flashed cm7 and running the first blood theme and i love it so far. i will be trying out the darkhorse theme at some point as well.
