Next big phone after Desire?

See, I've still got 11 months to go. Those handsets will be comparatively old by the time I get one :)

Yep, my next-phone-ometer has picked this one up and it looks absolutely stunning. If it had NFC it would be perfect! I just hope it has the new (latest) Sense too.

News flash.

Technology has just made a massive leap

Just put a pre-order in for this... Can't wait...

Don't joke.
that looks almost identical to my first mobile phone.
An analogue NEC with a pull up aerial that used to go "boing!" when you poked someone with it! ;)
It was on Cellnet and had no included minutes (SMS and mobile data hadn't been invented then)
If I remember it used to cost me about

The rabbit was before that. It was hutchison communications, which eventually turned into Orange (but I dont think it is anymore.)

I'm not loyal to brands myself.

So when the time comes to upgrade, whoever makes the best product to suit my needs, wants and budget gets my money. Be they Apple, HTC or Ulysse Nardin

I am and I'm not. Definitely want to stay with android but not sure I'm bothered about HTC. Historically they've been good for rooters but we'll see

I'm not a brand-fanboi either.
I'd like to stay with Android and I do like my HTC but I'll see what's around in a couple of years.

Although I am tempted to try and get my Mrs to take the Desire off me later in the year and get a Desire S ;)

Then you'll be pleased to know that the Ulysse Nardin is an Android phone. I guess the Premiership footballer market loves them some rooting.

I want to see what rooters will do with both HTC Evo 3D and LG Optimus 3D!
Cause I know they will be much more creative than the manufacturers hopefully.

Cool but still a year too early for me.

Totally satisfied now though so no worries there
I know what you mean.
When Desire starts stops running apps properly or is not able to get the latest OS, then my eyes will be fixed on the new phone.

Doesn't matter if all the best games are made for Tegra2 chips tho does it!
Absolutely. That is one of the reasons I look sceptically to the new SGS2 phone with its Exynos platform. If they put Exynos only on one phone (even splitting that model between Tegra 2 and Exynos depending on commercial market), while most others go for Tegra 2, then what incentive have the developers to optimize the games for Exynos?

Regarding Snapdragon 3, it might come out as one of the most popular platforms. Surely HTC and SE (and probably others like Acer) can make many models and sell huge amounts of it. The most popular platforms are the most interesting ones, and right now, I see the manufacturers split like this:
HTC, SE, Acer, etc - Snapdragon
LG, Samsung (a bit) - Tegra 2
Samsung - Exynos
Motorola, LG (a bit) - OMAP4

I'd place my bet either with Snapdragon 3 or Tegra 2...
