Exactly nothing annoys me more then when liberals have nothing to offer to defend the failures of this administration so they need to use the race card. The opposition to this administration is NOT about race but about policies and until democrats understand that this country will not move forward,
Yes. That's all that your taxes pay for. They don't pay for the transportation that allows for a functioning economy. They don't pay for defense, immigration, or customs enforcement. They don't pay for education so that we have a capable workforce. They don't pay for regulation of the air you breathe, the water you drink, the food you eat, the products you buy, the medicine you take, the communications systems that you use, and the toys your children play with. All they pay for is welfare. You make a completely reasonable argument.
Health care and defense spending are by far the most dominant components of the federal budget. Even the most generous definition of welfare spending gets you to one eighth of the budget. You don't seem to realize that a modern, functioning society needs a support framework that helps people when they are down. The vast majority of these people are only provided targeted assistance for a very short time and jump at the opportunities to help themselves and leave the system. Without such a system, both the economy and your ability to succeed within it would be greatly diminished.
And when will we get this so called "capable" workforce?

And there, you list ONE constitutional and one UNCONSTITUTIONAL expenditure. If those two items alone = 100% of the government, and spending on them were exactly equal, then 1/2 the taxes collected are unconstitutional.
You're speaking only of directly 'quoted' welfare programs - foodstamps, WDC, etc. You don't count the income redistribution of "earned income tax credit", medicaid, section 8 housing, etc.;
And you don't realize that private charities took care of this. The government took it over to create entitlement programs that they could buy votes with. Let's not even consider that we cannot afford these programs - The interest on the debt that BOTH PARTIES has accrued to the point that interest and principal = nearly 1.3million dollars per person! The government has enslaved (yes, I used the term SLAVERY - When someone takes the fruits of your sweat and toil for their own benefit, it's slavery...)
You are delusional. If these were "targeted" short time assistance programs, then you'd not let them get MORE for having another baby, and you'd put severe limits on the "cash" benefit, and the duration. But there is not, and, when conservatives suggest that their should be, the socialists rally their voting block by saying "Those other guys are trying to take away your social security! They're trying to starve your babies!"
Just like the socialists toss around "hate speach", "Divisiveness" when people disagree with them, and call people GREEDY when they want to control the fruits of their own labors.
NO ONE deserves what I've worked for but me. That's just the basic facts. If you can take the fruit of my labor, what stops you from taking my home, my property, my blood, my liver, for someone who you think deserves it more than me?

If you believe in the "equality of opportunity" globally to say it in a more american way, you could give yourself a good reason for that.

Like I already said, I don't think that Obama is a good president or deseved a nobel peace prize, but in comparsion to the monkey that governed before him, he is the messiah. In my opinion the US is going in the right direction finally.

Thats a bunch of B.S. I got passed up on my promotion for the city job because I was a white male. I tested higher than the guy who got my job. I filed a protest and saw the scores and everything realted. It came down to the city needed for affermative action sake fill the job with a minority. I tried to sue however the law was not in my favor. It is a law regaurdless of scores or qualifications to award a % of jobs to minorities. I have NO problem if he was more qualified but enough Whhhaaaa whaa Im a minority. Double standard if you ask me. NAACP, United Negro College fund, Black Ent T.V. (BET), Black Ent award shows, Al Sharpton, Jackson, On and on and on. I am not my fathers father and those days are gone. Stop punishing us for their mistakes. I've been stalking this thread for a while, and what I see most is people saying that we should help others who are "less fortunate." Very true. However, the government should have NOTHING to do with who we decide to help. Liberals love to slam conservatives by saying they don't want to help anyone and hoard all their money to themselves. It should be up to us who we want to help and by how much. You'll find there are a lot more who do this if you look around. And guess what...it works a LOT better than government ran "help" organizations. And while i'm on my soapbox, the ONLY reason Pelosi and rest want in on health care is because they see this as a business opportunity. If there was no profit in it, they wouldn't be looking at it.

The whole ****ing wealth of the western world is founded on the poverty of the so called developing countries! Your cloth, your food, your daily meat-overdose and so on... There is no biological difference between you and someone who is born in a lower class family or in africa, the only difference is the materialistic surrounding. In this country (USA) we're all born with the same opportunity. A man can rise from being one of 5 kids in a small house to CEO of a company, if he applies himself, makes the right choices, and so on.
