Google event on 10/24 points to Play news, Nexus a no-show? [Updated] | Android | Geek.com
How pathetic is this. Ive a couple of times today caught myself refreshing the Play Devices page in my browser.
Beat you to it
Really Google?! Everyone knows KitKat and the Nexus 5 are due out any day now and you're going to have a press event solely for the Play Store? Why wouldn't you include that in the event for everything else?It appears to be an event for the new play store
I'm wondering when they'll send out the press invites if the event is next Thursday. Would they go out Monday? My "uneducated" guess is that they will probably revel it on the 24th and will come out on Halloween on the 31st exactly 1 week after. Still not to far from the count down and goes great with a kit Kat candy bar.
I'm puzzled about all this talk about battery not being sufficient.
If it's packing 2300mAh along with all the optimizations that 4.4 will likely bring I'm still wondering about what the issue is.
The Moto X has been lauded for it's battery life, yet is only 2200mAh.
Why should we expect the Nexus 5 to be worse? Sure, I'd love 3000, but if I can get through my day on a charge then I'll be happy.
half as many cores running at a lower clock speed
That means Nexus 5 will finish tasks faster, and go into lower power states more quickly
Except for things that aren't time-based tasks. Like video games.
