They were talking about a metal frame - maybe they used that to dissipate hear?

Like the D3, the Bionic gets hot when running browser based Flash video, but this is not an issue just for the 4430, since worse for the Tegra 2.
Flash appears to be the main weak spot for heat and battery life. The one chip that appears to defy this and is supported by Anandtech's review is the 1.5ghz Scorpion in the Flyer. It does not get hot and performs better than the 4430 and the Tegra 2 for Flash video and video in general.
Flash based video and apps/games that get the cpu and gpu sweating will be the big test for how well the Razr manages heat and battery life. Yes, I have mentioned this a few times, but IMO, a legit concern.
All of that said, I use Netflix and Zumocast (aka Motocast) and the D3 barely gets warm and that is with 3G or higher def content over wifi.
The more I think about it, FLASH appears to be the problem and still not ready for prime time on phone form factors. Sure, the Scorpion 1.5ghz is better, but the Flyer has a bigger form factor and may dissipate heat better.
Can any Bionic owners speak to this? My DX is a great mug warmer on GPS too. Does the Bionic melt a hole in the dash, or is it a better heat manager? The only time my DX2 gets hot is when I use navigation extensively. I also usually play mp3's to my car stereo at the same time so It is getting double use on the processor. Other than that, I can run netflix, flash, etc and don't notice a heat issue. Also, my DX got hot under the same circumstances. Navigation seems to really tax the cpu. BTW - I just want to reiterate that my DX2 is running very nice since 2.3.4 OTA. I'll probably get the RAZR, but honestly am quite happy with my X2. Of note is that my X2 even while stock on froyo and early GB OTA's never had much for audio pops (a few but not bad), etc, but I can say there are zero audio issues and lag during swiping is basically gone since 2.3.4.
I wonder if the kevlar backing and everything else would help with any heat that would come from the phone?
It will probably help to not feel the heat coming from inside. But I'm not sure if it will also help with efficient heat dissipation. Seems like very tight space in it.

I'm not married to any one phone. The phone I pick will be the one I want. Who knows? Maybe I wait for summer?

I highly doubt google would let that happen. If no bloat will be on it bing won't be either. Not to mention google is hardwired into vanilla android.

Would be a great April Fools in October though, to get some rumor traction on it. Nah, the folks in the Nexus thread seem uneasy already, so no prodding. Not good cricket.Lol....come on,,,,He was kidding!!!

Bing is a thing that generates a lot of hate (as it should), so let Red rage on![]()
Interesting poll...I voted Single core/Rooted/Rom Monday Poll: Root, ROM, Both or Neither? - Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog
I tend to agree with the article and have voiced this very opinion. Back in my DF days I said that as hardware/software progresses the NEED to flash custom ROMs will decline.
Interested in what others have to say. Sound off.....
