Have not used clockwork recovery, but is there an option to "fix permissions" in there? Thats what you are looking for.....

Here's what's listed:
-reboot system now
-apply update from sd card
-wipe data/factory reset
-wipe cashe partition
-install zip from sdcard
-backup and restore
-mounts and storage
-advanced
-Go Back

click on advanced and see if it's there
You can probably return to this menu if it's not.
Side note---when all is said and done, you need to change that recovery to a more reliable one.--such as aforementioned amon ra/smelkus

It was in Advanced. I ran it and rebooted. Should I now un-install Rom Manager and then load smelkus?

Did the permissions fix, help your google play issue and force closes?
Go back to post 16 by Mizzou, where he said to fix permissions and clear something else, then we'll worry about installing smelkus.
One step at a time.
If you still have issues perhaps we will switch your recovery but it wouldnt hurt to do it now I suppose.
