Root NOOB needs help...HTC EVO 4g stuck in bootloop

Last night I attempted to root my EVO via SuperoneClick. During the process (at step#5, waiting on device...) we had an electrical glitch (i.e. quick outage and recovery). This "glitch" caused my computer to shutdown. Now my EVO is stuck in bootloop. I get the Sprint 4G animation loop....HELP Please...

Phone info is as follows:
Locked (oow)
HBOOT 2.18.0001
Supersonic EVT3 SHIP S-ON
MICROP-041f
Touch Panel-ATMEL224_16ab
Radio-2.15.00.12.19

I have downloaded the Amon recovery PC39img.zip to sd (via computer) and loaded sd into phone. When I get to HBOOT, it recognizes the PC36img.zip but gives me the following message:
Also, took out battery and powered on into Hboot:
Had camera handy and was able to get this info on HBOOT:
SD Checking...
Loading...[PC36DIAG.zip]
No image!
Loading...[PC36DIAG.nbh]
No image or wrong image!
Loading...[PC36IMG.zip]
Checking....[PC36DIAG.zip]
Then it goes to the HBOOT Menu (with fastboot, etc.)
I select Recovery and get the RED TRIANGLE!
I then press volume up+power and am able to get into Recovery
And I get this:
BLUE TEXT:
Roboot system now
Apply update from sdcard
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe cache partition

Then in YELLOW TEXT:
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/command
E: Can't mount /data/data/recovery/log
E: Can't open /data/data/recovery/log

Any suggestions on where to go from here????
--------------------------------------------------
Used volume up+power to get back into recovery
Chose Wipe cache partition…get the following:
…in YELLOW TEXT:
--Wiping cache…
Formatting /cache…
Cache wipe complete.
E: Can't mount /data/data/recovery/log
E: Can't open /data/data/recovery/log

Then chose: Reboot now….still in bootloop

HELP……………………………………………

Thanks for the info. Am downloading necessary files now. Will give this a try and let you know. Appreciate the assistance. Hopefully I haven't bricked my phone!

Thanks for the encouragement about phone not being "bricked". Now, if I could only keep my home wireless internet connection "connected" long enough to download the files required by "The Guide", I might actually be able to get the rooting finished/bootlooping fixed.
