Root [Noob Question] - A Way To Hack The Bootloader (Bybass)

I am just gonna assume that if somebody knew how to do that. They would have.
Supposedly somebody had made a kernel that boots from the sd card and has it overclocked. But has not been verified by anyone. And devs seem to say its not possible. And from what i hear if you do anything to the kernel your phone wont work.

Yea I remember that post a few months ago. Wish it was confirmed.

I haven't had a chance to try setting up kexec for our phone but it does look possible IMO. The kexec files linked in that post seem to need minimal changes to adapt to ours.

I was wanting to look into that
I think ShabbyPenguin or PlayfulGod said its not possible ,but i maybe wrong

The person that supposedly posted over jelly bean and over clocked the kernel. Supposedly did it all from the phone its self.

Highly questionable. No screenshots were posted.

I thought you had said something along the lines of misunderstanding what someone said about it. I'm not post searching for it but perhaps I misread it?
Searched Anyway ....

kexec just wasnt gunna happen. i

ah yea, regardlessw i still am a firm believer the best plan of action for you guys is emmc. have a init.d script throw 2nd init and load a new rom from internal storage.

It's a ROM inside of a ROM......

Had to do that

booting roms from internal memory has works with other phones so its certainly seem like the best thing to do. honestly though i feel like LG is seriously screwing with us and eventually they will release an update or maybe a tool that unlocks the bootloader. Thats my own personal belief. maybe Metro already has the update but they are just holding back cause you know how they are with their updates, almost as bad as verizon

I am still working on looking through the aboot. there are a lot of lines there, and I use what time I have. I am also looking into kexec... again.

Have you gotten it broken down to code or are you hexing it? I need to find what the phone calls when we run fastboot OEM unlock. You may be able to search for it I've seen it in the aboot but not broke down enough to see a function it calls or anything.

I am doing both. It would appear, as far as i can tell, that the phone simply says it was successful, but does not actually do anything.

I can tell you this:
Every aboot that boots on this phone does the same thing.

If i find a function, i will let you know. remember, however, that it is all in assembly language.

I am running my own take on TCR 3.0.1, with dual core unleash, build.prop tweaks, slightly oc'd to 1.6 ghz, ported some jelly and butter from gs3, and more bloat removed. All done with my phone.

Found it.
