Note 2 Size Comments?

where can we get e books and are they the same as what you can get on kindle?
You can get the kindle app on your phone through the play store if the app is not already installed, it was on the Note 1. And get kindle books from the library or buy them on Amazon.

I'm on day three and the size still has me in awe :) I love it. I cannot stretch my fingers all the way around to grip it on either side and still use my thumb on the screen, but I have naturally balanced it on the back with my fingertips and can still us the screen.

I use two hands more than before while on the couch or something. Using it in bed while laying down is a bit of an issue. I think it'll take a bit longer to work that out without dropping it. But it's falling onto the bed so it's not too much of an issue right now. Haven't gotten to read an actual book with it yet.

I always have to look at who's posting lol I noticed you're a female so the hand size makes sense. I played with one at a T-Mobile store and I could get my fingers around the edges thankfully. I'm also 6'4" so that probably factors in to the phone matching my size lol

I don't have tiny delicate hands either! LOL I remember going to Best Buy a few months ago and picking up the Note 1 and I instantly hated it. The Note 2 never had that reaction, but it just might have been that I was so excited when UPS brought me my box!

Isn't it interesting how subtle changes of a few millimeters in the form factor can have such a drastic effect on the appeal of a device? I completely agree with you. I didn't like the Note 1 at all, but love the Note 2. Very strange.

Anything bigger would indeed be a tablet lol. This phone size is perfect. Now they can work on further honing Android OS (Happy 4th Birthday to Android btw!) and really wipe out the competition

I think anyone coming from a 3.5" screen to 5.5" would have a stroke. For them it may take some getting used to since the increase was suddenly massive rather than a gradual increase.

I've gone from 2.2" samsung qwerty phone to the note 2 and i'm loving it !

No problem for me with the size too. Yes, it is a bit cumbersome to operate with one hand but that huge screen more than make up for it. There is more to see and very easy on the eye. I don't have to squint anymore. That said I think I won't be buying a 6" Note 3. 5.5" is almost pushing the limit of portability for a phone.

We just have to work on not being tempted, I believe we can do it!

@Alma I can count with 1 finger how many times I've put this phone down.....ok, 2 fingers and that's a lot....:D

I have a feeling neither of us will be tempted to change any time soon. I see this phone lasting me 2 yrs.......BUT if it doesn't I'll deny I said any of this. :p

The best way I have found to be happy with a phone for a long time is to get off this forum after I upgrade. I was fine with my Bionic until my Dad mentioned the Note 2. I started reading about it here, went to the Sprint store and played with it for a while, and now I can't think about anything else! But, the GN2 has everything I wish the Bionic had - better battery life, bigger screen, and no visible pentile.

Thats the thing about forums; they'll have you spending money faster than you can count it cause every next phone is GREAT. :p

So, I am the original poster of this thread....

Just got my Note II yesterday and I must say that I am amazed at how "un-large" this phone really is.

It's not the monstrosity that I had anticipated it would be. In fact, the size of the phone is just "perfect" even in my small hands.

So happy that I upgraded from the Galaxy S3 to this phone. It really is the best phone on the market right now.

Welcome to Note 2 world! I'll be interested to know whether you find you get better internet access in places where you had difficulty with the S3 before?

Agree 100%. I've had my Note 2 for less than 15 hours and the phone seem normal sized. I'm shocked it is not larger.

The size is *perfect*. My s3 is a great phone, will be keeping it along with my Note 2, but the iPhone looks like a kid's toy. No contest.

Long live the Note 2. The best device ever.

I can count on one hand how many people have said it's too big and they're returning it for the S3. The only time the phone seemed super sized (No... you can't get fries with that) :p was taking it out the box for the first time.

Ya, look at those iPhone guys. 3.5 to 4" and they are just a gitty as us and the Note 2.

So, because all the Note 2 are not next to the S3 in the stores...how is the display compared to the S3? I took teh S3 back because teh screen was soooo dim.

I know a lot of people love the S3, like 30,000,000 but that screen is way dark.
The Note 2 checks in at about 402 cd/m2 vs. the S3 at 330 (18% darker) and 247 (39
% darker) of the Galaxy Nexus.
I think I might be anal on this, but when you look at the S3 and GN, they are way too dark.

Got'cha but the people I'm talking about aren't those who bought the S3 before the Note 2 debuted. Being the successor to the S2, there was already a build up to getting the S3 cause the S2 was/is a phenomenal phone.

I was about to make that same plunge until rumors of the Note 2 surfaced. I decided to wait it out to see if my carrier would get it this time around. I didn't doubt they would but you can never be certain until it's official.

Once it became officially leaked :D the S3 dropped from my radar.
