I opted for the UAG case for my Note3.

On my previous HTC phone I had Otterbox Defender, which offers the ultimate protection though had kept my phone prestige & it had a few drops. Though I found the screen protector produced a lot of glare & traped dirt etc, so decided not to go Otterbox this time around.

The UAG is well made and a very nice case!

Hi Andrewtst,
By your screen shot it looked you are from Malaysia. If yes could you let me know how yo got the Otterbox case in Malaysia. I cannot see any site for malaysia . i also checked in LowYat plaza but could not find it there.
pls help

A simple enough design. We have a plate that covers the back of the phone as well as the side rails. All the cutouts are present and line uo well. And he kickstand is to die for because of it's versitilaty. You can do Portrait, Landscape left, Landscape right. The belt holster looks a little cheesy with that white felt-like pad though.

Darn! I brought the wrong cable. My USB charging cable fromthe RavPOWER External battery does not do data. I'll have to wait for later today to upload the image of the damage using this case caused,

wow that would be great wanna see how thats looks.....:)

Here you go.

I went for the Spigen Satin Silver Neo Hybrid - Amazon.co.uk case.

Firstly, the case came in frustration free packaging, which made it far easier to get out. It contained the authenticity card inside that showed I have a genuine product. Even without that I could tell that this case was probably genuine as it had been machined really precisely and fits the phone perfectly in every dimension. It certainly does not look like a 'knock off' in any respect.

The back is a very pleasing soft TPU that feels very smooth yet slightly yielding to the hand. It is completely flat (remember, I come from a curved back HTC One) and the camera lens is recessed back to avoid scratching by laying the device down on a flat surface.

The satin silver band really looks like brushed aluminium and gives the whole case a premium feel to it. The lip around the phone screen is about 1mm which I realise may not be to everyone's liking. The buttons are also plastic but coated in a polished silver paint to make them look like stainless steel. The button click is very responsive and I would vernture that for me it feels better to click the case buttons that use the naked device buttons.

Overall, the case really does not add much bulk to the device at all, which is exactly what I wanted. I realise that it will not offer the same level of protection as, say, an Otterbox Defender, but for me it is exactly what I want to protect the device from the occasional knock. The phone is already a huge device and I really did not want to increase that overall size too much. This case is perfect for that. It does offer some protection as well as give the device a premium feel over and above the naked look

The only gripe I have, and it is a minor gripe, is that the after market USB 3.0 charging cable I bought from Amazon will not fit into the hole cut in the case. I need to use the Samsung cable only as the housing on the USB 3.0 connector is smaller. I've ordered another Samsung charging cable off eBay, plus my old USB 2.0 cables fit perfectly so my car and bed side table charge points use those.

Overall, I am extremely pleased with the case and have decided to purchase a wireless receiver card rather than the S-View wireless cover or the OEM wireless charging backplate.

Caveat - This is my point of view. I am not stating anything as fact, merely my subjective opinion.

Wow feeling that case alot ..... Looks like a Nice fit... Gonna have to pick one of those up........ Happy Thanksgiving to all.........

I bought a UAG Case. Offers great protection against drops etc. However I often have the phone in my jeans pocket. Is there a glass screen protector which works with the UAG case, does anyone know?

I don't like the use of UAG film protector supplied with the UAG.

Here is the chrome plated back cover from ebay

After using my UAG case on my Note 3 for a few days now. I have a couple of gripes over it compared with my Otterbox Defender, which housed my former HTC Desire HD phone for 4 years!

The back on the UAG is very smooth. It's ok for getting it out of your pocket, but not great for holding it at the rear in one hand. Ok on the UAG case you have the honeycomb grip. However on the Note 3, unless you have hands like shovels your fingers won't ever reach the other (power button) side with 1 hand.

My Otterbox defender was more tacky at the rear panel, no requirement to have your fingers around the further edge of the phone, (just resting on the rest panel); this gave you enough grip to balance the phone & work it 1 handed. The UAG doesn't offer this position for your hands!

Also, the UAG case screen protector is rubbish. No matter how many times you try to lay it, you just can't get the air bubbles out of the screen protector & have these circle marks all over the screen.

The Otterbox Defender, may not be fashionable, but my HTC after a few drops after 4 years service is still absolutely mint condition. OK not worth anything now, though never gave me worries of a cracked or marked phone!

I'm considering getting the Spigen Satin Silver Neo Hybrid case.
But I need some opinions of two things first, as I'm quite noobie with cases and such. (All I had on my former Nokia N8 was a silicone case) :)

Would this Spigen Glass screen protector fit
with the Spigen Silver Neo Hybrid Satin case:

SPIGEN Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Screen Protector Glass [GLAS.t SLIM] Tempered Glass Screen Protector Clear for Galaxy Note III - GLAS.t SLIM: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics

Is the Spigen Glass good? (does it attract much fingerprints, glare from lights/sun, easy to install?)

All help would be greatly appreciated :)

You'll love them.

I'll try and repost some images that I had up earlier. Here's one I have locally below.

I use the Neo Hybrid and BodyGuardz Tempered Glass cover and it works fine. No glare, looks and feels 110% like a naked phone. See my post above for details.

Thanks you! I already read your post from earlier, that and the pictures & review by Scootmien were the reason I decided on the Spigen Neo Hybrid. :)
It just is (in my opinion) the most stylish case for the Note 3.
Also I love that the case is not too bulky, yet offers decent protection.

After extensive looking through this thread, I decided to get a Spigen Neo Hybrid White case.
Thanks for those who contributed in here

I noticed earlier today that the paint on the Spigen Neo Hybrid trim fades away real easily in areas with frequent contact. I have the silver, but I wish I would have gotten the white because the plastic underneath is actually white. Oh well...I guess it could be worse if I had gotten another color.

Finally received my genuine OtterBox Defender - Merlot Color.

Impression:
  • I find it is not that bulky as I though, at least not for Note 3 series, it is quite similar size as Commuter series.
  • The provide front plastic is superb low quality cheap, it is yellowish with not constant surface. Lucky it can easier peel off! Suggest peel off that rubbish plastic if your phone already got SP especially Glass SP. It fit nicely together with my Spigen Glas.tR Slim SP, (without the bundle one).
  • Overall build is far better than Commuter series. Solid.
  • I like it color combination design on it, it look fantastic, the home button cover had no impact on press, it is easier to press.
  • The extra heavy front black clip I just keep aside, I confirm 100% won't use it, it is useful if you do construction work.
Like it! :D ;)
