My Samsung Infuse resets the volume to a very low volume, I would like to know why it does this, I raise the volume on NOTIFICATION VOLUME several times a day.

That is not normal behavior at all. Do you have any apps that could be doing this?

Are you absolutely certain it is not being done accidentally...the volume rockers will override the settings if they are being hit while in pockets etc

Actually it does seem to be semi-normal. I know 3 people with the infuse and they all have the same thing happen........ test this out.

Turn notification volume all the way up
Call *DATA# (AT&T)
Check notification volume.

It ALWAYS drops back down to about 25%
I have no idea why this happens but it does seem to be consistant

Same here.

Yeah I don't know if rooting is the fix, but I just did the test above and my volume remained 100%. I am definitely rooted and running infused 2.1.0

mine is unchanged. sounds like another good reason to root if you ask me!!!

I rooted my Infuse, and although you are supposed to be able to remove some of the preinstalled applications, You can't. It just won't let you. You can do a few things that you normally couldn't do. The volume issue still remains there even rooted. At least that has been my experience with it. If someone knows how to keep the volume up on the notification volume. Please let us know. I haven't been able as of yet to get that to stay up and it is very aggravating.

The Volume Locker application in the Market will fix this. It worked for me, I had the same problem...buggy samsung :)

Mine has never changed..I still am unsure why your volume is changing...

rooting allows you to run custom software(which is why I thought maybe mine stayed the same volume, I run custom software), or at least lets you FREEZE the bloatware with titanium backup.

I'm running Infused v2.1 with Infused GB 1.1 kernel and still have the volume problem, had it when i was on the stock ROM and still have it. I'll try the Volume locker as previously suggested.

Volume locker works... "sort of". My phone drops the notification volume down to about 25%, but within "x" amount of seconds (per Volume Locker settings) it will revert back. It's a band-aid but will work for now
