October 21 2011 IS THE END OF THE WORLD.

If you are talking about mass extinctions, we are going through the sixth or seventh one now and I don't see the moon smashing into the Earth yet ;)

True, but the biblical end of the world only deals with the residents of the planet, not the planet itself. Maybe we need to be more specific about what constitutes the "end of the world".

1. The end of the world = extinction of humanity
2. The end of the world = destruction of all life on planet
3. The end of the world = destruction of the planet's ability to sustain life
4. The end of the world = destruction of the planet
5. The end of the world = Ashton Kutcher replacing Charlie Sheen

Well, I guess if the runaway global warming theory proves accurate... then perhaps we are going through a slow-mo end of the world..

Climate change, man. "Global Warming" is soooo last decade ;)

The theory is runaway global warming
If its unfortunate to come to pass they will give it a more PC term.. runaway doom

Still, apparently it wouldn't be the first time a runaway climate change (;)) occured so we can hide out in space for a few million years and later return :D

Or else the planet goes Venus on us and we are screwed

Ok a few things.
1.) There can not be an invisible rapture, that can not happen. The bible is very specific on the events of the end of the world. Even by the most irraltion readings, none of it has happened. So camping is 100% wrong.

But he also misses on the dead end of it. There has to be 7 years in which 3.5 years are pre rapture and 3.5 years are post rapture. If the rapture happened in march, we have 3.5 years to the end of the world. (Daniel 9:27)

Here's the deal from my perspective. I'm a Christian and actually and ordained minister (pastored for 8 years). From a biblical perspective, Jesus said that NO ONE KNOWS THE DAY OR THE HOUR of his return, except the Father. Not even Him! (at that point when he said it).
We could argue the bible all week, but you completely misquote bible.

There are 3 raptures in the bible. The first is a pre rapture, when the dead shall rise and go to heaven (possibly some living too, bible is not really clear). It is at this point in time there will be 7 years of peace with Israel. After 3.5 years there will be a second rapture in which the "true believers" will be removed from the planet. The anti christ will proclaim himself god and wage war against the world. After 3.5 years christ will return, and conquer the world. (ie the second coming will be known to those that watch.)

The bible repeatability says that the watchful christian will know the rapture is at hand, but not know the time or hour, assuming you believe more of mark and less of Daniel. If you believe more of Daniel and less of mark then the time of the rapture is very clear. Anti Christ makes peace with Israel, 3.5 years later rapture. If you believe more of the old testament and luke, the time will be after the 7 years of the antichrist and everyone that was in "the army of god" will fight with christ to remove the antichrist.

Bottom line, you will know the end the of the world and the second coming of Christ, you will not know when it will begin, unless you are faithful and watchful.

It is very clear, a ruler (who has united the world under one government), the anti christ will rise up and make peace with Israel, when this happen, you know it is the end of the world. He will rebuild israel and make it a grand city for 3.5 years. After that period, he will declare himself christ and then the rapture will happen.

Uh... well.. Honestly? I've never heard of "three raptures" before and I've been around a long time. So, I looked it up and was directed to a site threeraptures dot com. I've never heard of Ty S. Lamb, who came up with this theory?? I am assuming that as I've never heard it before, but what do I know?

It's interesting, but we're not really here to discuss theology, as much as I love doing that.

Meanwhile......

Well if you read the bible, it is actually very clear about it, as clear as anything in the bible. For example, back to your original quote.

But if you actaully read the bible, here is what said.

1 Thessalonians 5:2-3 said:
2for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. 3While people are saying,

Which means that if you follow the bible, it will not surprise you and you should know the time and date of the coming of the lord.

I really do wish people would read the whole bible and not just parts of it.

Which version of the bible - the one that God wrote?

You've come off the issues and got personal with this comment. Since it is geared at me, I won't take action.

In truth, I read the bible through cover to cover once a year, every. I have done so many, many years.

Finally, I don't want to turn this into a scripture debate, so I'm watching this thread, specifically that it stays on topic, respectful, and doesn't get personal. I'll be closing the thread and issuing warnings as all characters have been warned many times.

Well, scientists predict that the sun will become a red giant star and engulf the earth in about 5 billion years. I believe most scientists who study astronomy and astrophysics agree that this will happen. That will be when the world ends.

^^ that's what I meant by eventually. :) I watch the science channel, too! ;)

keep these end of the world dates coming, gives me more excuses to go out and party like crazy, though im not sure ill be able to top the last end of the world.

I believe my invite got lost for the last one - please send for the next one. :D

God didn't write to bible :o

On a lighter note, does the October end take into consideration the soon coming Zombie Apocalypse? They can't go on at the same time...

If God didn't write it, how do believer's know it is true?

Maybe the Zombie Apocalypse is the Rapture ...
