Yes. Its smooth as glass and made my phone smoking faster than stock. Proven with linpak. Stock was 6-8mflops, now its 14-15. And quadrant shows 1350, faster than nexus 1 2.2.
 
Hmmm... makes you wonder...if it really IS rolling out, and they also have rooted and available that way, do you wait for OTA, or do you take a shot at the hacked update?

I wonder if the version they have hacked is the final DX verion, or if this new OTA version is slightly different?
 
Hey all, I have a completely stock Droid X with the latest updates, no root, themes, etc. Are there any clean instructions on exactly what a noob like me can use to update?

I have read a few good threads today, and cant seem to find any clean information from someone who hasn't already rooted or modified their phone.

Easy update. A very large thank you to ALL PARTIES INVOLVED. I kept root! Updated to 2.2 just like that! So far I can report it is indeed fast. Very smooth transitions, etc. Quadrant showed 1375 and Linpack registered 14.151 mflops. Nice.

Did you do anything specific to keep root? I used the 1-Click method that came out about 3 weeks ago to root, never deleted any system apps or anything. Did you just follow the basic update guidelines?
 
Just installed. Very easy to do! So much easier then the Eris I did this to a long time ago. Overall phone speed improved, internet speeds improved, benchmark went from 1279 to 1333.

My X now feels much faster than my girlfriend's Droid 2 that came with Froyo. The Droid 2 benchmark was at 1249.
 
Just did it and no problems. The bootscreen did take a little longer than normal, which had me a little worried, but it kept all my settings on LaunchPro and everything else as well. This is great. Thanks to all who put this together!
 
i rooted my droid x and removed some of the bloatware, will this leaked 2.2 update work? i didnt back up the bloatware, so they are gone forever? will this be a problem??

Non rooted here, no themes, very easy - used PC to copy-paste to SD, rebooted into recovery, executed zip, hid progress, waited about 7 min, rebooted, sat at boot "eye" for a little longer than normal, everything loaded fine. Took a min for phone to speed up and get used to what I just threw at it but 30 min down the road and its much faster, still checking out all the changes.

I asked this in another thread but, FLASH, I went to my own website and simple flash worked fine, BUT do I need to install flash 10.1 from adobe or can anyone tell if it came with 2.2?
 
Now that I've installed Foryo, where can I get the Adobe Flash Player. I tried to find it in the market (even used a QR code), but can't find it anywhere :confused:.
